WORLD HEALTH DAY 2025: ANTINARCOTIC AWARENESS SEMINAR

Prime College of Pharmacy is always committed to provide a safe and healthy environment upholding a positive campus culture, promoting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. As a part of this commitment, the college has initiated “Antidrug Campaign” that demonstrated the importance of education, awareness and support in preventing substance abuse among students. As a part of World Health Day 2025, Prime College of Pharmacy organized antinarcotic awareness seminar to the B.Pharm and Pharm.D students on 09.04.2025. The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of drug abuse among students and to educate healthy lifestyles, importance of counseling services available for the students and to support the students in every way possible. The Seminar was led by the staff members Professor Dr. T. Sengottuvel and Associate Professor Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, intended to educate participants about the risks and consequences associated with narcotics use and provide them with the necessary skills to make informed decisions. The session focused on the harmful effects of narcotics and their impact on physical and mental health, the social responsibilities of the Pharmacists in social wellbeing. The seminar provided a platform to learn about the hazards of narcotics and the importance of its prevention. The students expressed a desire to make positive changes in their behavior and lifestyle to avoid substance abuse.

WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2025

Each year we commemorate World Tuberculosis Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The observance of World TB Day highlights the urgent need for early diagnosis, effective treatment, its preventive measures. The theme for this year is “Yes! We Can End TB”,reinforcing the idea that ending tuberculosis is possible with collective effort. This theme encourages individuals, healthcare workers, and policymakers to work together to eliminate TB as a global health threat. On behalf of this day, Fifth Semester B Pharm students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with Pharmacy Practice Department, IQAC and NSS Unit no.( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Government Head Quarters Hospital , Chittur, Palakkad on 24-03-2025. The programme has started with a speech by Residential Medical Officer, Dr. Rahul, detailing about the spreading & initial symptoms of tuberculosis. It was followed by a talk by the General Physician, Dr. Sudheesh, regarding the incubation period of TB , the various clinical laboratory tests for the diagnosis and also about the various services provided by the Government to eradicate the TB. Head Nurse ,Mrs. Rukmini, , and PRO, Mrs.Swathy along with the Junior Health Inspector, Mrs. Roja, explained about the community involvement in spreading awareness and reducing stigma. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and early diagnosis of TB, keeping a healthy way of life. They were successful in seeking attention of the public through the Flash Mob , held thereafter. Dr.P. Sivakumar ,Head Of the Department ,Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Sabitha TB, Associate Professor accompanied the students.

WORLD CANCER DAY 2025

Each year we commemorate World Cancer Day, February 4, to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of cancer and to strengthen cancer management. World Cancer Day is a day to educate the public about the impact of Cancer around the world. The theme of World Cancer Day 2025 – “United by Unique” – conveys a message which reminds that every cancer journey matters, and that collective action is key to ensuring compassionate, equitable care for all. On behalf of this day, Second Year Pharm. D students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no.NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The programme was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Anilkumar. He focussed on examining the socio-economic factors that lead to disparties in cancer prevention, incidence and survival such as cultural and gender norms, income and education levels, disability and lifestyle. He also highlighted the advancements in diagnostics and treatment. Mrs. Swathy, PRO, helped to arrange and coordinate the Flashmob performed by our students. Our students distributed Pamphlets and made individual interaction with patients and created awareness among public regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Mrs. Pooja, Health Inspector, has given the felicitation address for the awareness programme. Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Mrs. Sangeetha R, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics accompanied the students.

LEPROSY AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2025

The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a Leprosy awareness programme at Primary Health Center, Kodumbu on 30.01.2025 aimed to reduce the disease burden, stigma and discrimination, prevent of disability and improve awareness about leprosy. Dr. P. Sivakumar HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice welcomed the gathering and explained about the causes and preventive measures of leprosy. Dr. Majeesh Antony, Medical Officer, Primary Health Center, Kodumbu, has given a talk based on the theme “Unite, Act, Eliminate”. He emphasized on the importance of the campaign which aim to raise awareness of leprosy, highlight the challenges faced by persons affected and to inspire collaborative action for eliminating leprosy. Second year Pharm. D students of our college took part in the campaign by distributing leaflets and explaining then the mode of spread, symptoms and preventive care for leprosy. Mrs. Sumitha, Nursing superintendent has felicitated the gathering and appreciated our students for their effort and enthusiastic participation. Mrs. Aysumma C.U , Assistant Professor delivered the Vote of thanks for the programme.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATION 2025

Republic Day marks the adoption of India's constitution and the country's transition to a Republic on January 26. Every year, the celebrations marking the day feature spectacular military and cultural pageantry. On the auspicious morning of 26 th January 2025, Prime College of Pharmacy celebrated 76 th Republic Day at the college premises. It was the matter of great pride for all of us. Dr.A.Sumathy, Vice Principal , addressed the gathering. It was followed by National Flag hoisting by Vidhya K of Fifth Semester B Pharm. Diya Hanana of Second year Pharm D and Aiswarya of Second year Diploma delivered the Republic day speech. Fathimath Shibla of Fifth Semester B Pharm took the Pledge followed by the Flag salute. Students of Third and First Semester B Pharm sung the patriotic song. The function ended with National Anthem & distribution of sweets

THYROID AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2025

January is Thyroid Awareness Month, an important time to focus on the critical role that the thyroid gland plays in our overall health. The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elapully on 16.01.2025. Raising awareness about thyroid health empowers individuals to recognize early signs, seek timely medical attention, and receive accurate diagnosis and effective treatments. Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, Associate Professor welcomed the gathering. Dr. Gargy Anjolin David, Assistant Surgeon officially inaugurated the programme, she highlighted the importance and need of thyroid awareness month. Our fifth semester B. Pharm students actively participated in the camp by educating the patients regarding the thyroid disorders and measures to control thyroid hormone and distributed leaflets to them. Mrs. Bhavana. SNATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2024

National Pharmacy Week, held during the third week of November, honors Pharmacists' essential role in healthcare. It celebrates their contributions to patient well-being and medication management.This annual observance serves as a reminder of the critical role Pharmacists in promoting awareness and appreciation for Pharmacy professionals who play a pivotal role in optimizing medication use. The theme of the year”Think Health, Think Pharmacy” enhance the image of Pharmacists as medication experts and integral parts of the health care team who play an important role in improving people's health through their multiple services.On behalf of 63 rd National Pharmacy Week, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA, Kerala State Branch) organized a Pharma Rally on 26-11-2024, Tuesday.The well-organized Pharma rally, held from Chittur Anikode Junction to Mini Civil Stationwas officially inaugurated by Vice PrincipalDr. A. Sumathy. Dr.T.Sengottuvel, Head of Department, Pharmacology, flagged off the rally.Our students actively took part in the programme with great enthusiasm. They were successful in creating awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers and the authorities and policymakers, about the NPW theme in specific and about the Pharmacy profession and the role and importance of the Pharmacist.Prime College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Kanjiramkunnam Anganawadi has conducted an Community awareness Programme on 27.11.2024, Wednesday at Anganwadi and nearby places. Our students segregated into groups and provided home based counseling regarding safe and effective use of medicines. The community awareness programme has created a significant impact among the public regarding the use of medicines. Students also performed a flash mob in the Anganwadi premises which got a remarkable attention among the people in and around. We conducted an e-poster competition on the students on the same day afternoon session. Students from all the batches had given their presentations on different innovative topics from different departments like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical analysis. 28.11.2024, Thursday was the final day of NPW celebrations. We conducted competitions like Quiz, Mime &Tableau and the students from all batches participated wholeheartedly in all the events. The department of Pharmacy Practice conducted a live demo session (Role Play) highlighting the roles and responsibilities of Pharmacists which include patient counseling, detection of medication errors and adverse drug reactions etc. The sessions were very informative to all our students and it was an eye opener to all of them to understand their role in the health care systems. The programme winded up with distributing the prizes for the winners of the competitions.

WORLD DIABETES DAY 2024

As part of World Diabetes Day, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, NSS unit Prime College of Pharmacy along with the Six Semester B.Pharm Students has conducted the World Diabetes day awareness program on November 18, 2024 at Elappully Taluk Hospital. The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a critical global public health issue and emphasize the collective and individual actions needed to improve the prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition. This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps,” underpins our commitment to reducing the risk of diabetes, and ensuring that all people who are diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable and quality treatment and care. Join us in raising awareness, spreading knowledge and creating lasting change for all affected by diabetes. On behalf of this day, our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the importance of preventing the disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of effective Diabetes Management and how to improve patients quality of life. Dr. Anoop, Medical Superintendent, Elappully, extended his sincere efforts to make this camp a great success. Dr. Varsha V K, Dr. Archa S and Mr. Arun Giriraj accompanied the students.

ANTI- DRUG CAMPAIGN 2024

Anti-drug awareness campaign is organized to mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use. Prime College of Pharmacy, along with IQAC and NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized an awareness programme as a part of Anti- drug campaign in association with Vimukthi Mission and Kerala Excise Department on 01/11/2024. The event started with the prayer song. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy welcomed the gathering. Mr. M. Rakesh, Deputy Excise Commissioner, Palakkad, delivered the inaugural address. He distributed the first prize of Rs. 18,000 for the State wide short film competition organized by Kerala Niyama Sabha Secretariat in association with Kerala Legislative Assembly Media and Parliamentary Study Centre to promote awareness against Drug Abuse. All the participants of the prize winning short Film titled “ZARAR” were congratulated for their dedication and hard work to make it a success. Mr. M. N. Suresh Babu, Assistant Excise Inspector, Palakkad delivered the special address and Mr. Prasad. K, Preventive Officer ,Palakkad, delivered the felicitation. The core of the event was the talk by Mr. M. N. Suresh Babu, Assistant Excise Inspector, Palakkad on “Awareness on Drug Use Among Students”. His session successfully raised awareness and educated our students about substance abuse risks. It was an inspiring eye opening session, motivating the audience about the importance of mental health and wellness. He stressed about the continued efforts taken by the Government agencies to integrate anti-drug education in schools and colleges. The students expressed their feedback about the seminar which was the highlight of the event. Vote of Thanks was given by Mrs. Aiswarya. A. BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 2024

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an International health campaign that is held every October. The month aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects 2.3 million women worldwide. On behalf of this day, Second year Pharm D students of Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness program at Government Taluk Hospital, Chittur on 29-10-2024.They circulated the patient information leaflets, focusing the importance of the day, Students counselled them about the risk factors, early diagnosis and the prevention of Breast cancer. They were successful in educating and raising awareness about Breast cancer, its risks, symptoms ,and importance of early detection among the public. The programme was well coordinated by Prof. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Head Of Department, Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Archa S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Prime College of Pharmacy.

SWACHHATA HI SEWA CAMPAIGN

On the occasion of the third anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission and Gandhi Jayanti, the Hon’ble Prime Minister initiated the Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign, "Cleanliness is Service," from 17th September 2024 to 2nd October 2024 in association with this NSS unit (NSS UNIT NO: NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1 ) of Prime College of Pharmacy organized a cleaning campaign on 3/10/2024, Thursday at 11:00 AM. The cleaning campaign was inaugurated by Mrs. Jyothi A, NSS program officer and a session about the importance of campaign was given by the Mrs. Sruthi T P, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics. She explained about the importance of cleanliness and sanitation, how to maintain personal and community hygiene. The students came to know about promoting community participation and behavioural change to create clean, healthy and sustainable environment for all our community. The NSS volunteers of Fourth Semester effectively participated in the cleaning campaign conducted in and around the college campus. The students collected the wastes and separated into the biodegradable and recyclable wastes. They took the pledge to maintain the campus as well as the outside campus neat and cleanliness.

VAYOCHANA DINAM 2024

Vayochana Dinam is celebrated every year on 1 st October to recognize the contributions of older adults in our community. The day is celebrated to foster intergenerational relationship and to promote healthy aging. On behalf of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with NSS (NSS/SFU/PKD/ KUHS/1) unit organized a pledge taking event on 01/10/2024. The event aimed to promote awareness and to encourage community support for elderly individuals, ensuring their dignity, wellbeing and social inclusion. The NSS volunteers of Sixth Semester B Pharmacy took part in the program. The pledge was taken to increase awareness about elderly issues and concerns and to support them. As the future depend on the youth this pledge event mainly focused to make the youth to support the elder people. The pledge taking event successfully inspired a sense of community responsibility and compassion for elderly individuals.

WORLD HEART DAY 2024

World Heart Day is celebrated on 29th September every year. On this day, people everywhere are reminded that Cardiovascular disease, which includes Heart disease and Stroke, is the leading cause of death worldwide, taking 17.3 million lives annually. Under the slogan "Use Heart for Action," we will run a campaign from 2024 to 2026 encouraging people to take care of their hearts and giving them the tools to demand that decision-makers give cardiovascular health significant consideration by offering a worldwide forum for action. On behalf of this day, Sixth Semester B Pharmacy students of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) and Pharmacy Practice Department conducted an awareness programme at Family Health Centre Pudussery, Palakkad on 28-09-2024, Saturday. In an effort to lower the risk of Heart problems, our students distributed pamphlets to the public, educating them on the risk factors and benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. They enthusiastically participated in the campaign, emphasising the value of risk factors, preventive measures, and managing cardiac illness. The program was started with a Welcome speech by Junior Health Inspector, Mrs. Priya. A session about prevention of Cardiovascular diseases was given by Prof. Dr . P Sivakumar, Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Aparna S S , Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy. The program was concluded with a talk by Dr . Athira and Vote of thanks by Health Inspector ,Mr. Shogen Babu. R, Family Health Centre, Pudussery. The programme was successful in creating a global awareness about the high and increasing burden of cardiac diseases and the need for strategies for cardiac diseases prevention and management.

NSS DAY CELEBRATION 2024

The Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports of the Government of India oversees the National Service Scheme (NSS), a central sector program. Nationwide, September 24th is recognised as National Service Scheme Day each year. Its’ primary goal is to close the gap that exists between local communities and educational institutions, with a focus on rural areas. "Not Me But You" is the motto of NSS day. It enables students to participate in a range of community service initiatives run by the Government. It is a unique opportunity to recognise and appreciate the contributions made by each volunteer in promoting the welfare of the community as a whole. Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized a program in relation to this day. The program begun with the prayer song followed by the NSS day speech by Aroma Sachin, Fourth Semester B Pharmacy student, Prime College of Pharmacy. She stressed out the importance of the day and motivated the students to increase their participation in community services. The NSS flag was hoisted by Vice Principal, Dr. A. Sumathy. She was accompanied by NSS Program Officer Mrs. Jyothi A , Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Dr. T. Sengottuvel, Head Of Department, Department of Pharmacology and Dr. Sabitha T.B ,Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacology, Prime College of Pharmacy. Fathimath Shibla of Fourth Semester B Pharmacy took the pledge, followed by the NSS song and NSS clap. The event was concluded with National Anthem.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2024

The Independence Day of India, which is celebrated religiously throughout the country on the 15 th  of August every year, holds tremendous ground in the list of national days, since it reminds every Indian about the dawn of a new beginning. As India celebrates its 78th Independence Day, the Government of India has announced the theme for this year is Viksit Bharat or Developed India. It symbolizes the vision of a developed nation by 2047 and reflects the government's commitment to transform India. The campaign aims to address various socio-economic challenges through a holistic approach, focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, technology, and sustainable development. On behalf of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS Unit(NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) celebrated the 78 th Independence day on 15-08-2024. The event started with the prayer song by the choir team followed by the welcome speech by Misna Sherin of Fourth Semester B Pharmacy. The flag hoisting was done by Safa E of Sixth Semester B Pharm and the Patriotic song was sung by Second Semester B Pharm students. The celebration continued with message from Hibath .K and pledge by Fathimath Shibla of Fourth Semester B Pharm .Vote of thanks was given by Shahida Abdu Rahman of Fourth Semester B Pharm. Principal, Vice Principal, teaching and non-teaching staffs actively took part in the event along with our students. The event was concluded by National Anthem by our students. Sweets were distributed at the end of the ceremony.

WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2024

World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on July 28, every year. It’s a day marked by global events, health screenings, and educational campaigns, all focused on liver health. This day raises awareness of viral hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver that causes severe liver disease and cancer. The theme for the 2024 campaign is “It’s time for action”. This theme focuses on accelerating action on better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to save lives and improve health outcomes. On behalf of this day, Fourth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with Department of Pharmacy Practice, IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Government Taluk Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The goal was to create global awareness about the high and increasing burden of liver diseases and the need for strategies for liver diseases prevention and management. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and advantages of keeping a healthy way of life to decrease the risk of viral Hepatitis. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of preventive behaviors, risk factors, and how to live with a liver disease. Dr. Anil Kumar, Medical Superintendent, Chittur along with Mr. Suraj, Public Relations Officer extended their sincere efforts to make this camp a great success. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Head of Department of Pharmacy Practice, Ms. Niranjana C.M, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, accompanied the students.

FIELD VISIT TO DEVASHRAYAM SPECIAL CHILDHOME, PALAKKAD

Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the first year D. Pharmacy students (2023 batch) to Devashrayam , Special Child Home, Palakkad on 05/07/2024. The field visit was based on the new D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the Social Pharmacy syllabus. Principal, Mrs. Vinitha ,  gave a brief introduction about Devashrayam historical background, policies, objectives and services provided by Devashrayam. This visit was helpful in attending the physical orientation and various therapies provided at special education school. Our students interacted with students, saw their behavioural therapy being provided. The arrangement of educational visit to needs and abilities of Special education school was a very different experience and its smooth conduction was a great experience. This visit has given the students much knowledge in the field of Special Schools. They understood the process of teaching specially abled children during the visit. They understood that the teaching procedure in this Special School entails separately designed and methodically scrutinized compilation of coaching assessments, custom-made tools and equipment's, along with the accessible settings. INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY 2024

The International Day of Yoga is celebrated across the world annually on 21 st June. Prime College of Pharmacy in association with NSS unit (Unit No: NSS/SFU/PKD/1) celebrated the 10 th International Yoga Day with great enthusiasm. The event commenced with a comprehensive introduction to Yoga Day by Dr .A. Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. Following that Mrs. Jyothi A , Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Dr. Varsha V.K, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice gave a brief introduction on the importance and benefits of yoga based on theme of the year “Yoga For Self and Society”. The programme kicked off with warm up exercises, in which all the students actively participated. They were guided through various sitting and standing Asanas, with simultaneous explanations of their significance. The session lasted for over an hour, witnessing active participation and engagement from all attendees; undoubtedly it proved to be a successful event.

WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY 2024

The World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 th June to raise global awareness to take positive environmental action to protect nature and the planet earth. It is a day that reminds everyone on the planet to get involved in Environment friendly activities. This year theme was “Land restoration, desertification and drought resilience, under the slogan “Our Land Our Future”. Also, a hashtag is circulating on social media #Generationrestoration”. Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) celebrated World Environment Day 2024 in a meaningful way by the Second Semester B Pharmacy students by planting the saplings in and around the college premises. Dr. A. Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, inaugurated the program. Students became aware about the integral role of Environment in maintaining the balance of Ecosystem. All the students actively took part in the program and was successful in raising awareness about the importance of protecting our Environment among the college. Mrs. Jyothi A, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Mrs. Shantha Sheela N, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacognosy of Prime College of Pharmacy accompanied the students.

WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY 2024

World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on 31 May. As a part of this day, Seventh Semester B Pharmacy students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized an awareness camp at Kootupaatha Junction, Palakkad. The students highlighted the importance of protecting the younger generation from harmful and deadly effects of Tobacco smoke use and second hand smoke exposure. They performed flashmob to to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects. They also distributed pamphlets, which emphasised on WHO’s theme for 2024 that is ‘ Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference’. The public awareness camp about World No Tobacco day was successfully coordinated by Dr . P. Sivakumar , Head of Department, Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Neehara, Assistant Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy.

WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2024

On May 28, we mark World Menstrual Hygiene Day, a time to spotlight the importance of menstrual health. The theme for Menstrual Hygiene Day this year is: “Together for a Period Friendly World.”  On this day Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized a seminar session on menstrual hygiene for the students. Dr. Satya Prabha G, Department of Pharmacy Practice has taken the class on the theme to highlight the importance of menstrual care, and raise awareness.Menstruation is a natural part of a girl’s life.Hygiene facilities must be physically accessible for everyone within or in the immediate vicinity of each household, health or educational institution, public institutions and places, and the workplace. Ideally, they should be located inside or adjacent to toilets. Hygiene facilities need to be accessible on a reliable and continuous basis, to satisfy all needs throughout the day. The second year, third year and fourth year students have participated in the program. The session was very informative. The program was well coordinated by Mrs. Jyothi A, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Prime College of Pharmacy.

WORLD MALARIA DAY 2024

World Malaria Day is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. It is an occasion to highlight the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control. The theme -- "My Health, My Right" -- underscores the urgent need to address the stark inequities that persist in access to malaria prevention, detection and treatment services. On behalf of this day, Third Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elappully, Palakkad. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the importance of preventing the disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of prevention and treatment of disease.Dr. Anoop, Medical Superintendent, Elappully , extended his sincere efforts to make this camp a great success. WORLD HEALTH DAY 2024

World Health Day 2024 is celebrated every year on April 7 to raise awareness around various health issues worldwide.From longevity to happiness, health impacts all spheres of life. The theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, My right’.This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination.On behalf of this day, Eighth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC and NSS Unit ( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme on 06-04-2024, Saturday at Family Health Centre , Pudussery . Mr. Shoban, Health Inspector has inaugurated theprogram by delivering a speech on the importance of Health as well as on our individualright to breathe a clean air , good water, and quality food. Students actively participated in the program by distributing pamphlets to the patients and bystanders making them aware on the importance of the day. WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2024

Each year we commemorate World Tuberculosis Day, March 24, to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. World TB Day is a day to educate the public about the impact of TB around the world. The theme of World TB Day 2024 - ‘Yes! We can end TB!’ – conveys a message of hope that getting back-on-track to turn the tide against the TB epidemic is possible through high level leadership. On behalf of this day, Fifth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no.NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Primary Health Centre, Kodumbu, Palakkad. Our students distributed Pamphlets focusing importance of preventing of the disease. They highlighted the scaling up of active efforts to find TB, ensuring the provision of preventative TB treatment for people at high risk, increasing access to quality-assured rapid diagnosis of TB and achieving full uptake of highly effective, safe and short treatment regimens for TB and drug-resistant TB. The programme was well coordinated by Dr. Aparna S S, Assistant Professor and Dr. Archa S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Prime College of Pharmacy.

WORLD KIDNEY DAY 2024

World Kidney Day is celebrated on every second Thursday of March. It’s a day marked by global events, health screenings, and educational campaigns, all focused on kidney health. It is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about the importance of our kidneys and the vital role they play in our overall health. The theme for the 2024 campaign is “Kidney Health for All - Advancing Equitable Access to Care and Optimal Medication Practice”.' This theme focuses on the increasing burden of chronic kidney disease and achieving optimal kidney care to overcome these challenges at different levels. On behalf of this day, Eighth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elappully, Palakkad on 14-03-2024. The goal was to create global awareness about the high and increasing burden of kidney diseases and the need for strategies for kidney diseases prevention and management. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and advantages of keeping a healthy way of life to decrease the risk of Chronic Kidney disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of preventive behaviors, risk factors, and how to live with a kidney disease. SANTHWANA SANGAMAM – PALLIATIVE CARE FAMILY GET TOGETHER

As a part of palliative care family get together “SANTHWANA SANGAMAM” the NSS unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/1) of Prime Collegeof Pharmacy in collaboration with Elappully Taluk hospital had conducted the cultural programmes for the peopleon 7 February 2024 at Sreedevi Auditorium, Kunnachi. The event witnessed the participation of differently abled people and their families. Our third semester students performedcultural programmesfor them. The programme started with a prayer and Dr. Anoop,Medical Superintendent, Elapully welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was given by Mrs. Rajakumari, Standing Committee Chair Person, Health Department. The program was officially inaugurated byMrs.Revathy Babu,President,Elappully GramaPanchayth.The felicitation was given byMr. Sunilkumar, Vice President,ElappullyGrama panchayath and Mr.Saravanan,Kshema Standing Committee member. WORLD CANCER DAY 2024

World Cancer Day aims to promote awareness on cancer as a public health issue and to strengthen actions towards improving access to quality care, screening, early detection, treatment and palliative care. This year’s theme marks the second year of the campaign “Close the care gap” which is about understanding the inequities in cancer care and taking actions to make the necessary progress to address them. Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an awareness programme on 5th February at Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The awareness programme was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Anilkumar. He focussed on examining the socioeconomic factors that lead to disparities in cancer prevention, incidence and survival, such as cultural and gender norms, income and education levels, and biases based on age, gender, ethnicity, disability and lifestyle. Additionally, the call for increased action to improve cancer awareness, prevent cancer, support advancements in diagnostics and treatment, and address the shortcomings in health systems was also highlighted. Third Semester B Pharm students actively participated in the programme by distributing leaflets and made individual interaction and created awareness among patients and public regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. WORLD LEPROSY DAY 2024

World Leprosy Day is observed every year on the last Sunday of January. In India, it takes place on 30 January every year. The theme for World Leprosy Day 2024 is “Beat Leprosy”. This theme encapsulates the dual objectives of the day: to eradicate the stigma associated with leprosy and to promote the dignity of people affected by the disease. The theme of “Beat Leprosy” serves as a powerful reminder of the need to address the social and psychological aspects of leprosy, alongside the medical efforts to eliminate the disease. It calls for a world where leprosy is no longer a source of stigma but rather an opportunity to demonstrate compassion and respect for all individuals. The NSS UNIT (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) along with IQAC of Prime College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Kodumbu Grama Panchayath has conducted an awareness program at 11th ward. Mr. Chandran C, 11th ward member has inaugurated the programme. The students were divided in to five groups and given awareness about the leprosy to the public. They covered around 118 houses in the areas of Alayamkadu, Velunkadu and Kadiramkunnam. Asha worker Mrs. Rajakumari has also accompanied the students. Mrs. Jyothi A & Ms. Ameena Salim has coordinated the programme.

WORLD AIDS DAY 2023

Each year, on 1 December, the world commemorates World AIDS Day. People around the world unite to show support for people living with HIV and to remember those who have died from AIDS-related illnesses. World AIDS Day 2023, under the theme, “Let communities lead”, is an opportunity to reflect on the progress made to date, to raise awareness about the challenges that remain to achieve the goals of ending AIDS by 2030 and to mobilize all stakeholders to jointly redouble efforts to ensure the success of the HIV response. The IQAC and NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with MMC-2 Palakkad has conducted Aids day awareness programme at Vellazhuthampotta tribal colony, Malampuzha, Palakkad on December 1st 2023. The gathering was welcomed by Mr. Guruvayoorapan, MMC 2 member, Palakkad. The programme was inaugurated by Miss. Sruthi, PWD overseer. Dr. Anupama, General Practitioner MMC-2 delivered the felicitation It was followed by the candle lightening to reflect on our journey, acknowledge and celebrate the progress we’ve made, and recognize the challenges remaining to fight against the disease. A pledge was delivered by Naema C N, Sixth Semester B Pharm student, remembering the lives lost and emphasizing the urgency of our commitment to end the HIV epidemic. The student visited around 12 houses and conducted awareness class about AIDS prevention and management. NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2023 – FLASH MOB

As a part of 62nd National Pharmacy Week, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA, Kerala State Branch) organized a Flash mob on 23-11-2023 (Thursday). The theme of this year is “Join Pharmacists to ensure Patient Safety”. This year “National Pharmacy Week” is celebrated from 19-25 November and it is an opportunity to raise our patients’ and colleagues’ awareness about the vital role Pharmacists play on the healthcare team. About 35 students participated in the flash mob held at Civil station, Palakkad. The programme was a new experience to the public creating awareness about the role and importance of Pharmacists in health care. Apart from this, World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, celebrated from 18-24 November of every year, organized by IQAC and NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1). An awareness on use of antibiotics and antibiotic resistance was also given by our students to the crowd.

NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2023 - PHARMA RALLY

On behalf of 62nd National Pharmacy Week, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA, Kerala State Branch) organized a Pharma Rally on 21-11-2023 (Tuesday).Celebrated the third full week in November, “National Pharmacy Week” is a time to recognize the powerful impact you make on your patients. It is an opportunity to raise your patients’ and colleagues’ awareness about the vital role pharmacists play on the healthcare team. The theme of this year is “Join Pharmacists to ensure Patient Safety”. Dr. A. Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the welcome address and Pharmacy Practice HOD, Dr. Sivakumar. P officially flagged off the rally. About 100 students from Seventh Semester B Pharm and First Year Diploma participated in the rally held from Chittur Anikode Junction to Mini Civil Station. The rally was intended to sensitize the stakeholders and send a strong message to society regarding the role of Pharmacists in delivering proper health care facilities with special reference to drug administration and patient safety. Attractive placards were prepared by the students through which the message was passed on to the community regarding the role of Pharmacist in safety and efficacy of medicines. Along with this, pamphlets on Antibiotic resistance were distributed among the Chittur residents as a part of World Antimicrobial Awareness Week, celebrated from 18-24 November of every year, organized by IQAC and NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) .The students effectively spreaded awareness highlighting this year’s theme- “Preventing Antimicrobial Resistance Together”. The rally was a huge success in highlighting the importance of day.

WORLD DIABETES DAY 2023

World Diabetes Day provides an opportunity to raise awareness of Diabetes as a global public health issue and what needs to be done, collectively and individually, for better prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition. This World Diabetes Day, WHO will highlight the need for equitable access to essential care, including raising awareness of ways people with Diabetes can minimize their risk of complications. Activities will also celebrate the experiences of people with all forms of diabetes to help those impacted to take action, including seeking and obtaining essential care. On behalf of the day Prime college conducted an awareness program at Govt. Taluk Hospital, Chittur. Our Seventh Semester B Pharmacy students circulated patient information leaflets on focusing the importance of the day and also counseling were given to them about the prevention of diabetes. The program was well coordinated by Mr. A Mohamed Harish, Placement in charge, Dr. Archa S and Ms. Ameena Salim, Assistant Professors.

SAAPH : THE CLEANING CAMPAIGN 2023

“Cleaning is not just about removing dirt but also about creating a sense of health and well-being”, recalling the words of Mahatma Gandhi, the NSS Unit ( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) and IQAC of Prime College of Pharmacy organized “SAAPH : THE CLEANING CAMPAIGN 2023” in association with Navakerala Cleaning Mission of Government of Kerala and Kodumbu Grama Panchayath. The campaign was inaugurated by the Principal, Dr. N. L Gowrishankar. NSS Volunteers of Second Semester B.Pharmacy students along with the coordinators participated in the programme by collecting the waste materials in and around the campus. The students in different groups segregated the wastes materials into Degradable and Non-degradable. The Biodegradable waste materials collected were utilized for the biogas plant in the campus.The Non-degradable and e-wastes were collected and made ready to handover to the Harithakarmasena of Kodumbu Grama Panchayath. A self declaration form regarding the Green Protocol was submitted to the Panchayath Office by the Principal.

ANTI DRUG CAMPAIGN 2023

Antidrug campaign: A campaign to raise awareness about the major challenge that illicit drugs represent to society as a whole, and especially to the young. The goal of the campaign is to mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug use. Prime College of Pharmacy along with IQAC and NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized an awareness seminar as a part of Anti drug campaign in association with Vimukthi Mission and Kerala Excise Department. Dr. A. Sumathy, Vice Principal welcomed the gathering. The seminar session was conducted by one of the most renowned personality Mr. Abdul Bassith, Civil Excise Officer, Excise Range Office, Palakkad. The session was truly an eye opener to the students and staff members. He represented the campaign as an initiative against violations of human rights and inequality, especially in the areas of health, education, employment, safety and interaction. The students expressed their feedback about the seminar which was the highlight of the event. The antidrug pledge was recitated by the speaker and the delegates. The students who participated in the short film competitions as a part of the campaign was appreciated in the programme. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, Associate Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy. The programme winded up by quoting the words “Say NO to Drugs, Say YES to Life”.

APPRECIATION CEREMONY CONDUCTED BY KERALA EXCISE DEPARTMENT FOR WINNING FIRST PRIZE IN SHORT FILM COMPETITION

An appreciation programme was conducted on 25-09-2023 by Vimukthi Mission, Kerala Excise Department, Palakkad branch for winning First prize in the state wide short film competition organized by the Kerala Niyamasabha Secretariat in association with Kerala Legislative Assembly Media and Parliamentary Study Centre as a part of awareness campaign on drug addiction. Our short film was based on the theme “SAY NO TO DRUGS” .The short film was telecasted and posted in the official channels and social media platforms of Government of Kerala and was used in the drug awareness campaigns throughout the state. The momento was distributed in the Vimukthi camp, conducted at Govt.Polytechnic College, Palakkad by the honorable MLA Mr. A. Prabhakaran, Malampuzha constituency in the presence of esteemed delegates participated in the programme.

NSS DAY CELEBRATION -2023

The National Service Scheme (NSS) is a central sector scheme of the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports.It aims to provide hands-on experience to young students in delivering community service. Every year, NSS Day is observed on September 24th across India.NSS Day 2023 was celebrated on 25th September at Prime College of Pharmacy, Palakkad. The NSS unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) of Prime College of Pharmacy celebrated NSS DAY on 25.09.2023. On behalf of this day, the NSS flag was hoisted by NSS Programme Officer, Mrs. Aiswarya A T, Associate Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy. A speech reflecting on the rich history, significance, and noble ideals of NSS and a song was delivered by the students of the Second Semester B Pharm. The programme ended with the NSS day pledge and National Anthem.

NATIONAL PHARMACOVIGILANCE WEEK 2023

National Coordination Centre - Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission is celebrated 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17-23 september 2023. The Theme for this year was "Boosting Public Confidence in Pharmacovigilance". Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an internal seminar on 18. 09. 2023 based on the theme. The speaker for the session was Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice. An awareness programme was conducted on 20.09.2023 at Pudussery Family Health Centre organized by IQAC & NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1). The welcome address was given by Health Inspector Mr. Shogan Babu. The students actively participated in the awareness programme regarding Adverse drug reactions, Pharmacovigilance and Methods & importance of ADR Reporting by visiting outpatient department. The felicitation was given by Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Vote of thanks was conveyed by Mrs. Basheera. V, Associate Professor.

BLOOD DONATION CAMP-2023

Every year on September 25, World Pharmacist Day is commemorated with the goal of highlighting and advocating the pharmacist’s contribution to health improvement. “Pharmacy strengthening health systems” is the theme of World Pharmacists Day 2023. On behalf of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy along with IQAC and NSS (Unit No. MP032A-126) organized a Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Palakkad District Hospital , through which 29 units of blood was donated by both students and the staff members of the college. The camp was cordially inaugurated by Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, addressing the camp regarding the relevance of blood donation. Dr. Indu V. P, Blood Bank Medical Officer, District Hospital Palakkad along with M. V .Mohandas, Technical Supervisor; and Ranjith . C, Councellor headed the camp. Benson, Nursing officer; Devika Ranjini; Ranjith and Mohammed Ali provided the necessary support along with the student volunteers. The drive witnessed an extensive participation from the donors. Following the camp, the Kerala State AIDS Control Society/Kerala State Blood Transfusion Council provided the certificates to the donors. The camp effectively ends up in bringing a ray of hope among the students and staffs to donate blood and make a difference in one’s life.

WORLD FIRST AID DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME-2023

World First Aid Day is a global annual event observed annually on the Second Saturday of every September with the intention to promote awareness about the role of First Aid in saving lives. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of how First Aid saves lives every day, especially in situations of crisis. World First Aid Day 2023 focuses on the theme -“First Aid in the Digital World”. A one day awareness program was organized at Prime College of Pharmacy on behalf of this day. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar , Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. The session started with a class by Dr. T. Sengottuvel , Professor, Department of Pharmacology. He explained about the on the need to know about the right first aid methods during emergencies. He presented a video about the CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and explained with a demo to the B pharmacy students. The training focused on aim of first aid, how to perform CPR, definition and types of bandages, wound care, how to manage every day minor accidents and learn how to treat an unconscious and breathing casualty and manage minor cuts, grazes, bleeding and burns. The session provided an on opportunity for everybody to promote and gain knowledge in First Aid.

WOMEN’S EQUALITY DAY-2023

The continuous struggle for women’s participation and equality in all spheres of life and society is observed on Women’s Equality Day on August 26. This year’s theme for Women’s Equality Day is #Embrace Equity. The theme highlights the need to achieve gender parity, which is not just essential for economic growth but also fundamental human rights. Prime College of Pharmacy celebrated this day highlighting the steps taken in the direction of achieving gender equality. The program began with the Welcome address by Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal followed by the Presidential address by Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable trust. Mrs. Divya .D, Drug Inspector, Palakkad delivered the Inaugural address. Felicitation was given by Mrs. Kumari. K, Ward member , Kodumbu Grama Panchayath , Prof. Dr. K. Selvaraju , HOD ,Dept. of Pharmaceutics and Prof. Dr. Janarthanan.T, HOD, Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry. Prof. Dr. Sumathy . A, Vice Principal concluded the session with a Vote of Thanks. Another interactive session on the topic “The future of Pharmacy: Recognizing and Empowering Women through Women’s Equality Day” was given by the Chief Guest- Mrs. Divya D, Drug Inspector, Palakkad. As part of the event, a mime was performed by Fifth Semester B Pharmacy students and skit was played by Second Semester B Pharmacy students, conveying the importance of the day. A human chain was formed in front of the college campus with the girls students and female staffs along with the guests.

WORLD ORGAN DONATION DAY, 2023

World Organ Donation Day is observed every year on August 13 to spread awareness around importance of organ donation and bust myths around it. Donating organs is considered a noble cause as it amounts to leasing a person a new life. The theme for World Organ Donation Day 2023 is “Step up to volunteer; need more organ donors to fill the lacunae”. By becoming an organ donor, you can save the lives of others. Speaking on the importance of spreading awareness surrounding organ donation, the NSS Unit No. MP032A-126 along with IQAC at Prime College of Pharmacy organized programs highlighting the same. Our students actively participated by presenting several organ models for the competition. The winners were selected and prizes were distributed.

BREAST FEEDING AWARENESS PROGRAMME- 2023

On behalf of World Breast Feeding Week (Aug1-Aug7), our students made a short film "JANANI" based on the theme "Let's make breastfeeding and work, work!" for creating an awareness among the public about the importance of breast feeding and the support needed for the feeding mothers who are working too. Our college in collaboration with Kodumbu Panchayath organized a class based on the importance of breast feeding in the Anganawadi, Kanjiramkunnam C No: 158, at Palakkad. Mrs. Basheera .V, Associate Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy has given an awareness class to those parents who assembled there. Dr. Aparna S S, Assistant Professor, has coordinated the program. Our students have distributed the brochures among the peoples in nearby areas. The programme was inaugurated by the Anganawadi teacher Mrs. Sathyabhama.

NAVA KERALA CLEANING MISSION 2023

On behalf of the NAVA KERALA CLEANING MISSION 2023 “Be The Change You Wish To See In The World.” Prime college of pharmacy has participated in the cleaning campaign. The program was inaugurated by honorable Panchayath President Dhanaraj. He talked about the mission and appreciated students for the initiative taken voluntarily for the cleaning camp. Ms. Aiswarya A T, Associate professor, Prime College of Pharmacy has given the welcome address. Mrs. Sathyabhama, anganawadi teacher, Mrs. Mallika, Asha worker, Mrs. Vrindhalatha, CDS, Mrs. Shijila, Haritha kerala worker had also participated in the programme. OUR STUDENTS RECEIVED FIRST PRIZE FOR THE BEST SHORT FILM FROM KERALA LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY.

The Kerala Niyamasabha Secretariat in association with Kerala Legislative Assembly Media and Parliamentary Study Centre conducted a state wide short film competition as a part of awareness campaign on drug addiction. The students of Second semester B.Pharm have actively participated in the making of a short film based on the theme ”SAY NO TO DRUGS” and bagged first prize of Rs. 10000 along with certificate and momento.The prizes was distributed in the International Book Festival 2023 by the Kerala PSC member Mr.Roshan Roy Mathew in the presence of Honourable speaker of Kerala Mr. A.N.Shamseer and Secretary Mr. A.M.Basheer. The short film was telecasted and posted in the official channels and social media platforms of Government of Kerala and will be used in the drug awareness campaigns throughout the state.

ANTI DRUG CAMPAIGN-SPARSHAM 2021-22

NSS unit of Prime College of pharmacy has organized an anti-drug campaign entitled SPARSHAM 2021-22 in collaboration with the Excise department, Govt of Kerala on 24.3.2022. The program conducted in the auditorium at 2 PM was began with the prayer song and Mrs. Aiswarya AT, Assistant professor, Prime college of Pharmacy welcomed the gathering. Prof Dr N L Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime college of Pharmacy delivered the presidential address. The program was officially inaugurated by Shri. P K Satheesh, Excise Circle Inspector, Excise circle office, Palakkad and delivered a detailed seminar on” Drug addiction and its consequences". The Anti-drug campaign was felicitated by Shri N Srinivasan, Excise inspector, Excise range office, Palakkad. Thereafter the students took a pledge against drug abuse administered by Shri Abhilash K, Civil Excise officer, Excise range office, Palakkad. Ms. Naeema, IInd semester B.Pharm student delivered the vote of thanks and the campaign was ended up with National Anthem.

World AIDS day 2019

On behalf of World AIDS Day, NSS unit MPO32-126 of Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an awareness programme at Kollengode, on December 1st 2019. The programme was facilitated by Mr. Guruvayoorappan, Health coordinator, HLL. The programme started by seeking the blessings of almighty and was officially inaugurated by Dr. Ashique Ismail. J, Scheduled Tribal Medical Officer, MMC-I, Attayampathy, Palakkad. Mrs. Vasanthamani. N, ST- Promoter, Tribal Extension Office, Kollengode, Palakkad, Mrs. Suja. A. J, Staff Nurse, MMC-I, Attayampathy, Palakkad and Miss. Roshma. M.R, MMC-I, Attayampathy, Palakkad, addressed the gathering. Mr. Guruvayoorappan, through his speech, created awareness among people about the disease and various Government Organizations for rehabilitation of HIV infected patients. Dr. Ashique Ismail. J along with the students and public lighted the candles and took a pledge. Thereafter the students divided themselves into different batches and distributed leaflets among the public to create awareness about the disease. Mr. Shabeeb, Student of Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the vote of thanks.

National nutrition week 2019

As a part of National Nutrition week 2019, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Health Department Palakkad, conducted a drawing competition for students on 11.10.2019. The programme started with a prayer song. The occasion was graced by the presence of Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, who enlightened the students about the importance of health and motivated them to adopt healthy lifestyle, through his speech. The competition was a great success with the active participation of students of Prime College of Pharmacy.

World patient safety day 2019

Safety, a major concern in the health system due to the increased number of causes of people suffering harm while receiving health care. Confessing the urgency of this scenario September 17, 2019 united in a celebration of the first ever “World Patient Safety Day”. The slogan for this year was “Speak Up For Patient Safety”. As a part of World Patient Safety Day 2019 the NSS unit (MP032A-126) of Prime College of Pharmacy has organized a campaign in Taluk Head Quarters Hospital, Chittur. Dr. Sarfaras, Ortho surgeon, THQH, Chittur has inaugurated the programme. Miss. Jyothi A, Asst. Prof., Prime College of Pharmacy has given the welcome address. The speech on the theme of World Patient Safety Day was given by Mrs. Aiswarya A. T., Asst. Prof., Prime College of Pharmacy. Students of NSS unit has actively participated in the campaign by counseling the inpatients of both male and female ward, and also the bystanders along with the patients. They have counseled outpatients about the urgency of the safety issues to the people. Miss. Shahanas, Asst. Prof., Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the vote of thanks.

World breastfeeding week celebrations 2019

On behalf of World Breastfeeding Week Celebrations 2019 (August 01 - 07), a Content Creation Competition was conducted for Professional Colleges on 02/08/2019. The programme was organised by Women and Child Development Department, ICDS Cell, Palakkad District, Government of Kerala. The theme for this year was "Empower Parents, Enable Breastfeeding". A district level competition was arranged to motivate the creativity of Students by uploading audio/ video clips in the social media related to the theme. The contest was compiled to give awareness about the importance of breastfeeding to the parents. Our students actively participated by creating videos and won first prize in the competition. The prize distribution was held at Palakkad District Public Library on 7th August 2019.

World environment day - 2019

As a part of World Environment day - 2019 NSS unit MPO32-126 of Prime College of Pharmacy actively involved themselves in planting the saplings. The programme was officially inaugurated by Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal Prime College of Pharmacy by planting a Medicinal plant Lakshmitharu in our college campus. Followed by this a short speech was delivered by Muzammil, I year B. Pharm student on the theme “Beat Air pollution”. As a part of the session on oath was taken by the gathering, the programme was ended with National Anthem.

World NO tobacco day 2019

As a part of World NO Tobacco Day 2019, the NSS Unit of Prime College of Pharmacy and Mobile Medical Clinic of Palakkad District Hospital was conducted a camp at Meenakshipuram. The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Guruvayoorappan (Regional Co-ordinator, HLFPPT) and the camp was inaugurated by Dr. Ponni. K. Mohan (Medical Officer, Mobile Medical Clinic, Palakkad). Prime College of Pharmacy Assistant Professors Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T and Ms. Revathy. C have given classes on the topic "Tobacco and Health Risks". Our Students actively participated in the camp by distributing Leaflets and created awareness among the people in and around the locality. The skit and anti - tobacco oath influenced the crowd and the camp was a great success because of the public involvement.

Cleaning camp 2019

On behalf of NSS unit of Prime College of Pharmacy a cleaning camp was conducted at Chemattiyapadam Anganwadi and surrounding area on 14-05-2019. The programme was inaugurated by the President of Kodumbu Panchayath Mrs. Shylaja and Mr. Dhanaraj (Vice President, Kodumbu Panchayath) has given the presidential address. Mr. Haridas (Block member), Mr. Unnikrishnan (Ward member), Mrs. Shantha (Health and Education standing committee member), Mrs. Komalam (Welfare and Development standing committee member) and Mrs. Sathi (Anganwadi teacher) also became a part of the camp. Proceeding the program, students of NSS unit cleaned the surrounding areas of Anganwadi, also separated the biodegradable and recycle waste.

Azadi 70

As a part of Independence day celebration our NSS UNIT:MP032-A 126 of Prime College of Pharmacy has taken up programme involving the students of I, II, III year B. Pharmacy to focus on the theme “AZADI -70”. The programme started in the presence of our Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. Various events like essay writing, drawing competition etc were conducted as a part of the event.

Blood donation camp

On behalf of World Student’s Day 2018, Prime College of Pharmacy organized a blood donation camp with the help of Palakkad District Hospital- Blood Bank Unit on 12/10/2018. The welcome address was given by our beloved Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Radhika Sukethu. About 70 members (students, teachers and non teaching staffs) participated in the camp and donated 35 units of blood.

On September 24th, NSS unit, Prime College of Pharmacy celebrated the NSS day. The event highlighted the history, motto, and basic concepts of NSS. September 24th is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programme and activities.

AIDS Awareness programme december - 2017

On behalf of NSS unit MPO32-126, Prime College of Pharmacy, as a part of World AIDS day, On December 1st, an AIDS awareness programme was conducted at Kollamkunnu. The programme was arranged by Mr. Guruvayoorappan, Health Coordinator, HLL. The ceremony was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, Palakkad. Mrs. A. Sumathy, NSS Coordinator lighted the candles and the whole mass of students and public people took a pledge. Thereafter, the students were divided into different batches and participated in creating awareness among the public. Students distributed leaflets regarding the information about AIDS and provided awareness about the disease.

National cleaning day - 2017

The National Cleaning Day camp with the joint efforts of Prime College of Pharmacy and NSS unit was conducted on 26-09-2017 as a part of NSS day (September 25) and Gandhi Jayanthi (October 2). The cleaning and awareness camp was organized under the guidance of Mobile Medical Unit of Palakkad District Hospital at Kanakkampara 7th ward Anganwadi. The camp was officially inaugurated by Mrs. Sumathy Chandran (Ward Member, 7th ward, Kanakkampara). As a part of the camp, skit and tableau was performed by our NSS students regarding the theme “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”. A cleanliness awareness class was given by NSS coordinator Mrs. Sumathy. A (Asst. Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy).

NSS day celebration 2016

NSS Day was formally launched on 24th September, 1969. Therefore September 24th is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programme and activities which was celebrated in our college with the active participation of the Principal, staffs and students of the college.

A seminar on antiragging laws - 2016

Prime College of Pharmacy Palakkad, affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences conducted a seminar on Anti-Ragging laws on behalf of Taluk Legal Services Committee, Palakkad. The programme was conducted on Wednesday, 7th September 2016 in our college campus at 2.30 P.M. Prof. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy presided over the function. Ms. V. V. Lakshmi, Asst. Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. K. P. Indhira, Additional District Judge, Chair Person Taluk Legal Services committee, Palakkad, followed by the felicitation given by our II B. Pharmacy student Mr. Ilyas. A legal Literacy class was conducted by Sri. Vinoth Kynath, Advocate, Palakkad. Shri. Balasubramaniyan, Secretary, Taluk Legal Services Committee, Palakkad delivered the vote of thanks for the gathering. The programme was organized by our NSS Unit coordinator Mrs. A. Sumathy, Asst. Jyothis 2016

As a day of remembrance to serve the physically challenged persons, our NSS unit (NSSMPO32A-126) of Prime College of Pharmacy conducted a social service program at Jyothi Nilayam, Puduppariyaram, Olavakkode, Palakkad on 16.06.2016. Jyothi Nilayam is a home for around 100 mentally challenged Children. Our NSS volunteers as a refuge of compassion to bring a little solace to those in pain planned various events to entertain the children, so as a part of it we spent one whole day with those children and made them cheerful and motivated their talents, conducted games, drawing competition, dance, music and encouraged them by distributing prizes.

Anti-polythene campaign – Swachh bharath mission activities

On behalf of NSS unit MPO32A-126, Prime College of Pharmacy, as a part of Swachh Bharath mission activities 2016, on June 13th, an Anti-Polythene Campaign was conducted in our institution. The welcome note and theme of this activity was explained to the gathering by our Principal, Prof. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar. The mission was ended by undertaking the swachtha pledge by our NSS volunteers that they will keep their surrounding premises clean and serve for the community cleanliness.

World students day - dr. A. P. J. Abdul kalam birthday

As a day of remembrance of our former president Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam’s birthday our NSS students (NSS unit: MP032-1) organized the world students day celebration in our College on 15.10.15. The programme was conducted in presence of Principal, Faculty members and students of Prime College of Pharmacy.

Gandhijayanthi - communal harmony day

The NSS volunteers (NSS unit: MP032-1) celebrated Gandhi Jayanthi – communal harmony day. As a part of the event, a tableau (Unity in Diversity between 1946 & 2015) and debate (Non-Violence Vs Violence) was conducted. Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy Inaugurated the function. The programme was an event of information and innovation.

NSS Day celebration - gardening activity

Prime College of Pharmacy Palakkad, affiliated to Kerala University of health sciences conducted the NSS day celebration on behalf of our National Service Scheme (NSS unit: MP032-1) on 28.09.2015. Environment enrichment and conservation - waste land development activity

Prime College of Pharmacy Palakkad, affiliated to Kerala University of health sciences conducted the environment enrichment and conservation programme on 14.09.15 to 16.09.15. On behalf of National Service Scheme our NSS volunteers (NSS unit: MP032-1) were divided into three teams and each team participated themselves in cleaning the waste land and made the area clean for a proper utilization.
