  • WORLD HEALTH DAY 2025: ANTINARCOTIC AWARENESS SEMINAR
    Prime College of Pharmacy is always committed to provide a safe and healthy environment upholding a positive campus culture, promoting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing. As a part of this commitment, the college has initiated “Antidrug Campaign” that demonstrated the importance of education, awareness and support in preventing substance abuse among students. As a part of World Health Day 2025, Prime College of Pharmacy organized antinarcotic awareness seminar to the B.Pharm and Pharm.D students on 09.04.2025. The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of drug abuse among students and to educate healthy lifestyles, importance of counseling services available for the students and to support the students in every way possible. The Seminar was led by the staff members Professor Dr. T. Sengottuvel and Associate Professor Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, intended to educate participants about the risks and consequences associated with narcotics use and provide them with the necessary skills to make informed decisions. The session focused on the harmful effects of narcotics and their impact on physical and mental health, the social responsibilities of the Pharmacists in social wellbeing. The seminar provided a platform to learn about the hazards of narcotics and the importance of its prevention. The students expressed a desire to make positive changes in their behavior and lifestyle to avoid substance abuse.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON PRESCRIBING PATTERNS OF ANTIBIOTIC DRUGS IN ENT
    Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an internal seminar entitled "Prescribing Patterns of Antibiotic Drugs in ENT" for the first and second year Pharm D students on 28-03-2025.The session was led by Dr .P. Sivakumar , Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice. The seminar provided the guidance on the proper use of antibiotics in ENT practice, focusing on optimizing antibiotic therapy and offering evidence-based guidelines for rational prescribing of medicines. The talk emphasized the importance of collaboration between an ENT specialist, a primary health care Physician and a Pharmacist in promoting effective antibiotic stewardship. Students gained a deep understanding on the implications of antibiotic use and its misuse which is essential for making informed and responsible prescribing practices. The interdisciplinary approaches can significantly enhance patient care, especially in managing ENT infections. The insightful educational program highlighted the importance of an antibiotic use and better treatment outcomes. It was a valuable learning opportunity for the students that encouraged thoughtful discussions and provided various strategies for improving antibiotic prescribing in ENT practice.

  • WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2025
    Each year we commemorate World Tuberculosis Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The observance of World TB Day highlights the urgent need for early diagnosis, effective treatment, its preventive measures. The theme for this year is “Yes! We Can End TB”,reinforcing the idea that ending tuberculosis is possible with collective effort. This theme encourages individuals, healthcare workers, and policymakers to work together to eliminate TB as a global health threat. On behalf of this day, Fifth Semester B Pharm students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with Pharmacy Practice Department, IQAC and NSS Unit no.( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Government Head Quarters Hospital , Chittur, Palakkad on 24-03-2025. The programme has started with a speech by Residential Medical Officer, Dr. Rahul, detailing about the spreading & initial symptoms of tuberculosis. It was followed by a talk by the General Physician, Dr. Sudheesh, regarding the incubation period of TB , the various clinical laboratory tests for the diagnosis and also about the various services provided by the Government to eradicate the TB. Head Nurse ,Mrs. Rukmini, , and PRO, Mrs.Swathy along with the Junior Health Inspector, Mrs. Roja, explained about the community involvement in spreading awareness and reducing stigma. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and early diagnosis of TB, keeping a healthy way of life. They were successful in seeking attention of the public through the Flash Mob , held thereafter. Dr.P. Sivakumar ,Head Of the Department ,Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Sabitha TB, Associate Professor accompanied the students.

  • FIELD VISIT TO COMMON BIOMEDICAL WASTE TREATMENT AND DISPOSAL FACILITY, IMAGE
    IMAGE is the biomedical waste treatment and disposal project of the Indian Medical Association. It is an institution of excellence and is now renowned as "THE KERALA MODEL" having catapulted God's Own Country ahead of other states in the field of Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility (CBWTF). Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the Third semester B. Pharmacy students (2023 batch) to Indian Medical Association Goes Eco-friendly (IMAGE), Palakkad on 28/02/2025 and 01/03/2025. The Operational Coordinator of IMAGE Mr. Jinish Raj S M guided the students to the institution. Ms. Anjitha P R, Environmental Engineer gave a brief introduction about IMAGE-CBWTF. Mr. Naveen, Engineer guided and explained the working of plants and techniques of recycle effectively. This visit has given a deep knowledge about biomedical waste management. The students learned the techniques related to biomedical waste management methods such as incinerator , Autoclave etc. The staffs Dr. Kavitha K, Mrs. Silpa G, Mr. Shebin A and Mr Arun Giriraj accompanied the students.

  • FIELD VISIT TO FAMILY HEALTH CENTRE, PUDUSSERY
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the second year D. Pharmacy students (2022-2024 batch) to Family Health Centre, Pudussery on 22/02/2025 based on the new syllabus for D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the subject of Community Pharmacy and Management. Mr. Shogen Babu R, Health Inspector gave a brief introduction about the Family Health Centre and the major roles and services provided to the society especially the role of Community Pharmacy. Mrs. Divya K, Cheif Pharmacist, and Pharmacist Mr. Mansoor, shared the details about the Community Pharmacy Management and the roles and responsibilities of a Pharmacist in their services. Mrs.Ambili.S.Nair, Junior Health Inspector, explained about the role of Pharmacist in various health educational programmes. This visit has provided the students with a wealth of knowledge about dispensing processes and different types of patient counselling strategies, vaccine storage and management of ice lined refrigerator, storage conditions of different types of medications, various documentation process regarding Community Pharmacy Management and various health education programmes. The staff members Mr.Arun GiriRaj.V and Dr.Akshaya. S accompanied the students on the field visit.

  • FIELD VISIT TO TALUK HOSPITAL, ELAPPULLY
    Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a field visit for Second year D. Pharm (2024-2025 Batch) at Taluk Hospital, Elappully on 14-02-2025. This field visit was mainly focused based on the new regulation of D. Pharmacy (ER-2020) for the subject Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy. The field visit was a different experience for the students as they learned about the roles and responsibilities of public health care teams. They visited all the departments in the hospital along with the Health care team and had the opportunity to learn about the importance of Pharmacy in a public health setting, particularly in a Taluk hospital where the community’s primary healthcare services are provided. Dr. Anup, Medical officer has given a session on the role of various departments in the hospital and their functions. The Chief Pharmacist Mrs. Latha explained about procurement of the medicines from the government sector , the average annual fund allotted by the government for medicine procurement, the infrastructure needed for the running the pharmacy, storage and documentation of schedule H drugs, information on dispensing and documentation the drugs. Also, she has given information regarding administration and dilution of medicines, patient counseling and health screening services to be provided for the patients. The staff members Mr. A. Mohammed Harish, Mr. Arun Giri Raj V, and Mrs. Aysumma C.U accompanied the students. This visit was very much informative and helpful to the students for understanding the role of the health care professionals in a hospital setting.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON ARTICLE WRITING
    An internal seminar was conducted at Prime College of Pharmacy about “Article Writing” on 14.02.2025. It was an insightful and educational experience for final year B. Pharm and M. Pharm students. The session was led by Dr. T. Sengottuvel, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology. The seminar aimed to provide guidance on research, organization, and writing techniques for article writing. The session emphasized on how to conduct research and gather relevant information for articles, to develop skills to write clear, concise, and engaging articles, how to Organize and structure articles for maximum impact and to pitch articles to editors and publishers effectively. He also discussed the best practices for getting articles published in various media outlets and made students to understand the importance of ongoing learning and professional development in article writing. Overall, the seminar equipped students with the essential tools to enhance their article-writing skills in the field of publishing.

  • WORLD CANCER DAY 2025
    Each year we commemorate World Cancer Day, February 4, to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of cancer and to strengthen cancer management. World Cancer Day is a day to educate the public about the impact of Cancer around the world. The theme of World Cancer Day 2025 – “United by Unique” – conveys a message which reminds that every cancer journey matters, and that collective action is key to ensuring compassionate, equitable care for all. On behalf of this day, Second Year Pharm. D students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no.NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The programme was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Anilkumar. He focussed on examining the socio-economic factors that lead to disparties in cancer prevention, incidence and survival such as cultural and gender norms, income and education levels, disability and lifestyle. He also highlighted the advancements in diagnostics and treatment. Mrs. Swathy, PRO, helped to arrange and coordinate the Flashmob performed by our students. Our students distributed Pamphlets and made individual interaction with patients and created awareness among public regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Mrs. Pooja, Health Inspector, has given the felicitation address for the awareness programme. Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Mrs. Sangeetha R, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics accompanied the students.

  • LEPROSY AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2025
    The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a Leprosy awareness programme at Primary Health Center, Kodumbu on 30.01.2025 aimed to reduce the disease burden, stigma and discrimination, prevent of disability and improve awareness about leprosy. Dr. P. Sivakumar HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice welcomed the gathering and explained about the causes and preventive measures of leprosy. Dr. Majeesh Antony, Medical Officer, Primary Health Center, Kodumbu, has given a talk based on the theme “Unite, Act, Eliminate”. He emphasized on the importance of the campaign which aim to raise awareness of leprosy, highlight the challenges faced by persons affected and to inspire collaborative action for eliminating leprosy. Second year Pharm. D students of our college took part in the campaign by distributing leaflets and explaining then the mode of spread, symptoms and preventive care for leprosy. Mrs. Sumitha, Nursing superintendent has felicitated the gathering and appreciated our students for their effort and enthusiastic participation. Mrs. Aysumma C.U , Assistant Professor delivered the Vote of thanks for the programme.

  • THYROID AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2025
    January is Thyroid Awareness Month, an important time to focus on the critical role that the thyroid gland plays in our overall health. The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elapully on 16.01.2025. Raising awareness about thyroid health empowers individuals to recognize early signs, seek timely medical attention, and receive accurate diagnosis and effective treatments. Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, Associate Professor welcomed the gathering. Dr. Gargy Anjolin David, Assistant Surgeon officially inaugurated the programme, she highlighted the importance and need of thyroid awareness month. Our fifth semester B. Pharm students actively participated in the camp by educating the patients regarding the thyroid disorders and measures to control thyroid hormone and distributed leaflets to them. Mrs. Bhavana. R, Assistant Professor delivered the vote of thanks.

  • D PHARM ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2025
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully hosted an orientation programme for the first year D Pharm students on 09-01-2025 at College auditorium , which included sessions to introduce the students to the Pharmacy profession as well as to motivate them and inspire them for their overall development. The event aimed in making parents and students aware of the academic components of the course, the institute's norms and regulations, and the importance of parental involvement in monitoring their children's achievement and development. The event begun with the Welcome address by our Principal, Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. It was followed by the Presidential address by Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman. The Secretary ,Mr. B. Rahim, delivered the Inaugural address. The function was progressed with a key note address by Prof. Dr. C.I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. The felicitation was given by Prof. Dr. K. Selvaraju, HOD, Department of Pharmaceutics, Prof. Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Prof. Dr. T Sengottuvel, HOD, Department of Pharmacology. Vice Principal, Prof. Dr. A. Sumathy delivered the Vote of Thanks. Later on, Mrs. Bhavana. R, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice read out the College rules and regulations. Dr. Archa. S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, briefed the students and parents about the Hostel rules and regulations. The programme ended with the National Anthem.

  • FIELD VISIT AT MILMA PALAKKAD DAIRY 2025
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for Second year Pharm D students (2023 batch) with staff coordinators Mr. Mohammed Harish and Mrs. Sangeetha R, at the Milma Palakkad Dairy, on 07-01-2025. This field visit was based on the regulation of Pharm D syllabus and it helped the students to understand and to improve their knowledge on the commonly using instruments in Dairy product processing, specifically about Pasteurization technique. Mr. Babu, - Marketing officer and Mr. Mohammed, explained about all the instruments and machineries to students along with a demonstration which helped the students to know more on them. The field visit was very useful for the students to know about working principle of all the instruments and machineries involved in dairy processing.

  • PHARM D FIELD VISIT 2024
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the Second year Pharm D students (2023 batch) with staff coordinators Mr. Mohammed Harish A and Mrs. Sangeetha R, at the Pathology lab of Rajiv Gandhi Co-operative Hospital, Palakkad on 19-12-2024. This field visit was based on the regulation of Pharm D syllabus and the students came to understand and improve their knowledge on the commonly using instruments in a Pathology lab.  Mr. Sekhar, Histopathologist, Mrs. Janani R, Microbiologist and Dr. Anju, Pathologist, explained about the laboratory instruments and the tissue specimens to students along with a demonstration which helped the students to know more on them. The field visit was very useful for the students to know about each and every procedure and instruments involved in a Pathology lab.

  • NATIONAL PHARMACY WEEK CELEBRATIONS 2024
    National Pharmacy Week, held during the third week of November, honors Pharmacists' essential role in healthcare. It celebrates their contributions to patient well-being and medication management.This annual observance serves as a reminder of the critical role Pharmacists in promoting awareness and appreciation for Pharmacy professionals who play a pivotal role in optimizing medication use. The theme of the year “Think Health, Think Pharmacy” enhance the image of Pharmacists as medication experts and integral parts of the health care team who play an important role in improving people's health through their multiple services. The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted an Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Programme in association with District Hospital, Palakkad on 21.11.2024. On behalf of 63 rd National Pharmacy Week, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (IPGA, Kerala State Branch) organized a Pharma Rally on 26-11-2024, Tuesday.The well-organized Pharma rally, held from Chittur Anikode Junction to Mini Civil Stationwas officially inaugurated by Vice PrincipalDr. A. Sumathy. Dr.T.Sengottuvel, Head of Department, Pharmacology, flagged off the rally.Our students actively took part in the programme with great enthusiasm. They were successful in creating awareness amongst the public, other healthcare providers and the authorities and policymakers, about the NPW theme in specific and about the Pharmacy profession and the role and importance of the Pharmacist.Prime College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Kanjiramkunnam Anganawadi has conducted an Community awareness Programme on 27.11.2024, Wednesday at Anganwadi and nearby places. Our students segregated into groups and provided home based counseling regarding safe and effective use of medicines. The community awareness programme has created a significant impact among the public regarding the use of medicines. Students also performed a flash mob in the Anganwadi premises which got a remarkable attention among the people in and around. We conducted an e- poster competition on the students on the same day afternoon session. Students from all the batches had given their presentations on different innovative topics from different departments like Pharmaceutics, Pharmacology, Pharmacy Practice and Pharmaceutical analysis. 28.11.2024, Thursday was the final day of NPW celebrations. We conducted competitions like Quiz, Mime &Tableau and the students from all batches participated wholeheartedly in all the events. The department of Pharmacy Practice conducted a live demo session (Role Play) highlighting the roles and responsibilities of Pharmacists which include patient counseling, detection of medication errors and adverse drug reactions etc. The sessions were very informative to all our students and it was an eye opener to all of them to understand their role in the health care systems. The programme winded up with distributing the prizes for the winners of the competitions.

  • WORLD DIABETES DAY 2024
    As part of World Diabetes Day, the Department of Pharmacy Practice, NSS unit Prime College of Pharmacy along with the Six Semester B.Pharm Students has conducted the World Diabetes day awareness program on November 18, 2024 at Elappully Taluk Hospital. The day provides an opportunity to raise awareness about diabetes as a critical global public health issue and emphasize the collective and individual actions needed to improve the prevention, diagnosis and management of the condition. This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Bridging Gaps,” underpins our commitment to reducing the risk of diabetes, and ensuring that all people who are diagnosed with diabetes have access to equitable, comprehensive, affordable and quality treatment and care. Join us in raising awareness, spreading knowledge and creating lasting change for all affected by diabetes. On behalf of this day, our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the importance of preventing the disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of effective Diabetes Management and how to improve patients quality of life. Dr. Anoop, Medical Superintendent, Elappully, extended his sincere efforts to make this camp a great success. Dr. Varsha V K, Dr. Archa S and Mr. Arun Giriraj accompanied the students.

  • GRADUEREN 2024
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized the graduation ceremony, GRADUEREN 2024 for the 2019 B Pharmacy batch on 12-11-2024, Tuesday at College auditorium. The event was a momentous occasion, celebrating the achievements of the graduating students and marking the culmination of their academic journey. Dr. Rajasree. R.S, Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences at Kerala University of Health Sciences graced the event as the Chief guest. The auspicious ceremony commenced with the grand entry of academic procession. Following the prayer song and KUHS Anthem, Principal, Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar extended a warm welcome to the gathering. Prof. Dr. C. I Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, delivered the Presidential address. He congratulated the graduands for their outstanding achievement. The grand ceremony was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Rajasree. R.S, Dean of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kerala University of Health Sciences. She complimented the graduands for their excellence and motivated them to explore the tremendous job opportunities in Pharma field. She also appreciated the faculty and Parents who have guided them along the way. Our Chairman Dr. P.A. Mohammed Ashraf honoured the chief guest by presenting the Memento. The Key note address was delivered by the Secretary, Mr. B. Rahim, which was followed by the declaration of graduation ceremony by the Chief guest. The enlightening part of the session was the distribution of academic excellence awards to the rank holders. Mrs. Fitha. T. V of 2020 M Pharm Pharmaceutics batch was awarded with gold medal, certificate and memento for securing third rank from Kerala University of Health Sciences by the Chief guest Dr. Rajasree R. S. The Chairman, Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf distributed the Gold medal, Memento and certificate to the topper of 2019 B Pharmacy batch, Ms. Swathi Sivan. Mr. B. Rahim, Secretary, awarded Cash prize, Memento and certificate to Ms. Shabana Rinsi M K, for securing the second position. Prof. Dr. C. I Sajeeth, Executive Trustee awarded Cash prize, Memento and certificate to Ms. Devichandana.V .S for her third position. All the graduands were congratulated for their hardwork, perseverance and academic excellence. It was followed by the Conferral of degree by the honourable Chief guest. She awarded the graduands with the certificates. Dr. K. Selvaraju, Head of Department, Department of Pharmaceutics, led the administration of Oath to the graduates. Vote of Thanks for the gracious event was given by Vice Principal, Prof. Dr. A. Sumathy.The Chief guest dissolved the Graduation ceremony, and all stood up together for the National Anthem. The momentous event was ended with the recessional of graduation to the robing chamber, marking yet another milestone in our journey.

  • HANDS ON TRAINING PROGRAMME ON HANDLING OF DISSOLUTION APPARATUS
    Prime College of Pharmacy organized a Hands On Training programme on Handling of Dissolution Apparatus for the Fourth Semester B Pharmacy students on 30-10-2024. The resource person for the session was Mr. Shyam S Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics. It was a live demonstration to enhance the student's understanding about the dissolution apparatus, its’ working procedure and the determination of drug’s bioavailability and efficacy using it. He detailly explained about the various dissolution apparatus used commonly and also the various parameters including dissolution rate, dissolution profile, and dissolution efficiency. These added insights into how quickly and completely the drug dissolves. Students came to know about the mechanism of drug dissolution with clear cut idea about the means and ways of handling the apparatus.

  • BREAST CANCER AWARENESS MONTH 2024
    Breast Cancer Awareness Month is an International health campaign that is held every October. The month aims to promote screening and prevention of the disease, which affects 2.3 million women worldwide. On behalf of this day, Second year Pharm D students of Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness program at Government Taluk Hospital, Chittur on 29-10-2024.They circulated the patient information leaflets, focusing the importance of the day, Students counselled them about the risk factors, early diagnosis and the prevention of Breast cancer. They were successful in educating and raising awareness about Breast cancer, its risks, symptoms ,and importance of early detection among the public. The programme was well coordinated by Prof. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Head Of Department, Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Archa S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Prime College of Pharmacy.

  • B.PHARM AND PHARM D ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2024
    Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an orientation programme for our eleventh batch of B.Pharmacy and second batch of Doctor of Pharmacy. The Programme was held at College auditorium on 23/10/2024. The event started with a prayer song by B.Pharmacy students. Our honourable Principal Prof.Dr.N.L.Gowrishankar welcomed the gathering. The inauguration of the programme was done by Mr.B.Raheem, Secretary, Prime Educational and Charitable trust by emphasizing the vital role of Pharmacist, stressing the need for skilled Professionals. He urged students to strive for excellence, balancing academics with extracurricular activities. The Executive Trustee of Prime Educational and Charitable trust Prof.Dr.C.I.Sajeeth delivered the keynote address to the gathering by outlining our commitment to produce competent Pharmacist, highlighting its state-of–the-art facilities and research opportunities. The felicitation was given by Prof.Dr.K.Selvaraju, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmaceutics, Dr. P Sivakumar, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Dr. T Sengottuvel, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmacology provided professional informations about Pharmacy field. Vote of thanks delivered by Prof. Dr.A.Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. The programme concluded with National Anthem.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON FOCUS ON MEDICINAL CHEMISTRY IN PHARMA
    Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an Internal Seminar on “Focus on medicinal chemistry in Pharma” for the Third year B. Pharmacy students. The very informative educative session was given by Dr. K Kavitha, Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry on 19.10.24 at the Seminar Hall. The seminar discussed about importance of medicinal chemistry in Pharma industy, drug discovery and provided insights into the challenges and opportunities for realizing its potential in Pharma field. The students came to know about the identification of lead compounds, optimization of pharmacokinetic properties, receptor selectivity and specificity. They understood about design and synthesis of novel compounds with optimal pharmacological properties, reduce toxicity and side effects. The informative session also discussed about the application of computational models for drug design and prediction. The session concluded with collaboration between AI tools in drug discovery, industrial standards like FDA, ICH and ACS guidelines, clinical trial initiation and new drug application.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON MASTERING THE ART OF POSTER PRESENTATION; A STEP BY STEP GUIDE
    Prime College of Pharmacy organized an Internal Seminar on “Mastering the art of Poster Presentation; a step by step guide” on 28-09-2024 for the Third Year B Pharmacy students at the Seminar hall . The resource person for the session was Dr. K. Selvaraju, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmaceutics, Prime College of Pharmacy. In his talk, he covered the basic steps for the preparation of a Scientific poster. He explained about the five main steps for applying IMRaD (Indroduction , Methods, Results and Discussions) format of Scientific posters. The students came to know about the various tips of poster making like color, lettering etc. and also understood about how to concise the contents of a poster. They understood about the acceptable size and how it will be displayed on a screen. The session concluded with various Poster presentation templates, report writing guides, and various graphic design software’s used for making a perfect Poster.

  • WORLD HEART DAY 2024
    World Heart Day is celebrated on 29th September every year. On this day, people everywhere are reminded that Cardiovascular disease, which includes Heart disease and Stroke, is the leading cause of death worldwide, taking 17.3 million lives annually. Under the slogan "Use Heart for Action," we will run a campaign from 2024 to 2026 encouraging people to take care of their hearts and giving them the tools to demand that decision-makers give cardiovascular health significant consideration by offering a worldwide forum for action. On behalf of this day, Sixth Semester B Pharmacy students of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) and Pharmacy Practice Department conducted an awareness programme at Family Health Centre Pudussery, Palakkad on 28-09-2024, Saturday. In an effort to lower the risk of Heart problems, our students distributed pamphlets to the public, educating them on the risk factors and benefits of leading a healthy lifestyle. They enthusiastically participated in the campaign, emphasising the value of risk factors, preventive measures, and managing cardiac illness. The program was started with a Welcome speech by Junior Health Inspector, Mrs. Priya. A session about prevention of Cardiovascular diseases was given by Prof. Dr . P Sivakumar, Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Aparna S S , Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy. The program was concluded with a talk by Dr . Athira and Vote of thanks by Health Inspector ,Mr. Shogen Babu. R, Family Health Centre, Pudussery. The programme was successful in creating a global awareness about the high and increasing burden of cardiac diseases and the need for strategies for cardiac diseases prevention and management.

  • FIELD VISIT TO M/S LABINDUSS LTD 2024
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit dated on 27/09/2024 for first year D. Pharmacy Students (2023 batch) with Placement in- charge Mr. A. Mohamed Harish, and staff coordinator Mrs. Aysumma C.U to the Labinduss Ltd, Pharmaceutical Company, Kanjikode , Palakkad.This field visit was mainly focused based on the new regulations of D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) syllabus for the subject Pharmaceutics. Mr. Sanjay, Production Manager, Labinduss Ltd, explained the students about the various liquid, oral and external preparations. The purpose of this field visit was to gain insight into the company’s operations, quality control measures and product development processes. It was very useful for the students to understand about the layout of manufacturing plant and procedures for manufacturing of liquid oral and semisolid dosage forms.

  • WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY 2024
    World Patient Safety day 2024 focuses on “Improving Diagnosis For Patient Safety” with the slogan “GET IT RIGHT, MAKE IT SAFE”. This year’s theme highlights the critical importance of accurate and timely diagnosis in ensuring Patient safety and improving health outcomes. On behalf of World Patient Safety Day, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC, conducted an awareness programme on 26.09.24, Thursday. Dr. Varsha V K, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, presented a seminar on “Improving Diagnosis For Patient Safety” for the Sixth Semester B Pharmacy students at Seminar hall. In her talk, she explained about the methods of generating accurate medical history taking through various physical examinations. Students came to know about the various diagnostic testing techniques and about the various funding and research grants related to patient safety. Upon completion of seminar, the students understood about the importance of clear communication between health care providers and patients.

  • WORLD PHARMACISTS’ DAY 2024
    World Pharmacists’ Day is celebrated globally on 25th September every year. This day is celebrated to advocate and appreciate the role of Pharmacists in improving health conditions around the world. Pharmacists are integral to our health-care systems, often being the first point of contact for health advice and primary health care, as well as addressing the health needs of our populations in many varied ways. According to the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), the theme of this year is “Pharmacists: Meeting global health needs” .On behalf of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC, celebrated World Pharmacists’ Day with the wholehearted involvement of students, staffs and management on 25/09/2024 at College auditorium. The program started with the Welcome address by Vice Principal, Dr.A.Sumathi followed by the Inaugural address by the Principal, Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. The students of different batches presented a session on the various facets of Pharmacy profession along with the responsibilities and challenges of this profession. Dr. K Selvaraju, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmaceutics, conducted a Pharma Quiz 2024 for the B Pharmacy and D Pharmacy students. They showed great enthusiasm to be a part of the event and more than 150 students actively involved in the session. The prize distribution to the winners was awarded by Principal, Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar at the end. The event concluded with National Anthem.

  • ANTI RAGGING AWARENESS PROGRAMME MAHOTSAV 2024
    Hazing , also known as ragging is a ritualized kind of torture that can result in serious bodily and psychological harm rather than being a benign rite of passage. Anti ragging Committee of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with SSGP, NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized an Anti ragging Awareness Programme Mahotsav 2024 on 03-09-2024 at College auditorium for Second and Fourth Semester B Pharm and Second year Diploma students . Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the Welcome address. The felicitation was given by Dr..A. Sumathy , Vice Principal ,Prime College of Pharmacy. The resource person for the day was Adv. Shahabas. M, District Legal Services Authority ,Palakkad. As a part of University Grants Commission, the Anti ragging committee took the initiative to hold competitions including Slogan writing, Logo designing, Essay writing English and Malayalam from August 12-18 th of 2024. The prizes were distributed to the winners by the Chief guest in the event. It was followed by a very informative Anti ragging awareness session by Adv. Shahabas. M, District Legal Services Authority, Palakkad. He stressed out the seriousness of the detrimental practice that hampers the growth and well-being of students in educational institutions. He motivated the students describing about the importance of raising awareness, implementing strict policies, providing support services and encouraging educational institutions to eradicate ragging to ensure opportunity to learn and grow in a safe and empowering environment . The Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. T. Sengottuvel, Head of the Department, Department of Pharmacology, Prime College of Pharmacy. The event was concluded with National Anthem by our students.

  • FIELD VISIT TO SANTHIGIRI AYURVEDA MEDICAL COLLEGE, KODUMBU, PALAKKAD
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the first year D. Pharmacy Students (2023 batch) to the Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical college, Kodumbu, Palakkad on 09.08.2024. This field visit was mainly focused based on the new regulation of D-Pharmacy(ER-2020) for the subject Pharmacognosy. Dr. Sneha M S, Principal in charge, Dr. Sumam E Professor and Dr.Arya V M, Professor of Santhigiri Ayurveda Medical College welcomed the staffs and students with an introductory talk. Students visited the Pharmacognosy lab having a wide collection of preserved rare medicinal plants with Prof. Dr. Sumam E and Dr. Arya V M conducted a class on preparations of Ayurvedic formulations. Our students visited the herbal medicinal garden with 200 species of plant varieties. The faculties explained the morphological and medicinal importance of plants. The Medical College developed a Nakshathra Vanam, where trees associated with 27 constellations or Nakshathras have been planted. Those trees were of medicinal, social, aesthetic or economic values, offering rich biodiversity. It was very useful for the students for better understanding of various concepts in Ayurvedic system of medicines, as well as collections, cultivations, preparations and dispensing of Ayurvedic formulations.   • WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2024
    World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on July 28, every year. It’s a day marked by global events, health screenings, and educational campaigns, all focused on liver health. This day raises awareness of viral hepatitis, an inflammation of the liver that causes severe liver disease and cancer. The theme for the 2024 campaign is “It’s time for action”. This theme focuses on accelerating action on better prevention, diagnosis, and treatment to save lives and improve health outcomes. On behalf of this day, Fourth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with Department of Pharmacy Practice, IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Government Taluk Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The goal was to create global awareness about the high and increasing burden of liver diseases and the need for strategies for liver diseases prevention and management. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and advantages of keeping a healthy way of life to decrease the risk of viral Hepatitis. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of preventive behaviors, risk factors, and how to live with a liver disease. Dr. Anil Kumar, Medical Superintendent, Chittur along with Mr. Suraj, Public Relations Officer extended their sincere efforts to make this camp a great success. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Head of Department of Pharmacy Practice, Ms. Niranjana C.M, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis, accompanied the students.

  • FIELD VISIT TO IMAGE, PALAKKAD
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the first year D. Pharmacy students (2023 batch) to IMAGE, Palakkad on 24/07/2024. The field visit was based on the new D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the Social Pharmacy syllabus. Mr. Jinish Raj S M (Operational Coordinator, IMAGE IMA) guided the students and Ms. Anjitha P R (Environmental Engineer, IMAGE IMA) gave a brief introduction about IMAGE- Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility(CWBTF). Mr. Naveen guided and explained the working of plants and techniques of recycle effectively. This visit has given the students much knowledge about biomedical waste management. They learned the techniques related to biomedical waste management methods such as incinerators for the treatment of waste under yellow category, Autoclave for the treatment of waste under blue category etc. Mrs. Bhavana. R, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Ms. Bincy .P , Lecturer, Prime College of Pharmacy accompanied the students.

  • WORLD YOUTH SKILLS DAY 2024
    World Youth Skills Day was established by the UN General Assembly in 2014 to emphasise the critical role that preparing young people for employment, decent labour, and entrepreneurship plays in tackling global issues and promoting sustainable development. The theme for World Youth Skills Day 2024 is Youth Skills for Peace and Development. It highlights the crucial role that young people play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution efforts. On behalf of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized a competition on Compounding of Pharmaceutical Preparations for the D. Pharmacy, B. Pharmacy, M. Pharmacy and Pharm D students on 15-07-2024. Students were divided into five groups and they enthusiastically took part in the competition. They presented their preparations before the judges with a brief description about it. The prepared different formulations were evaluated based on the method of preparation, its consistency and accuracy by Dr. K.Selvaraju, Head of Department, Pharmaceutics and Dr. Sivakumar. P , Head of Department, Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy. The prizes were distributed to the winners at the end of competition.

  • FIELD VISIT TO ELAPPULLY TALUK HOSPITAL, PALAKKAD
    Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the second year D. Pharmacy Students (2023-24 batch) to Elappully Taluk Hospital , Para, Palakkad on 05-06- 2024 . The field visit was based on the new D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy syllabus. Dr. Anoop gave a brief description about the dispensary details and medication. He explained about the various roles and duties of respective departments in hospital. Students understood about the storage of the drugs in the Pharmacy, procurement of the medicines from the Government sector, the average annual fund allotted by the Government for medicine procurement, the infrastructure needed for the running of the Pharmacy, storage and documentation of Schedule H drugs. This visit was informative and helped the students to understand the role of the health care professionals. This visit was well coordinated by Dr. Varsha .V.K, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Mrs. Amrutha C.U, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics.

  • WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY 2024
    World No Tobacco Day (WNTD) is observed around the world every year on 31 May. As a part of this day, Seventh Semester B Pharmacy students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized an awareness camp at Kootupaatha Junction, Palakkad. The students highlighted the importance of protecting the younger generation from harmful and deadly effects of Tobacco smoke use and second hand smoke exposure. They performed flashmob to to draw attention to the widespread prevalence of tobacco use and to negative health effects. They also distributed pamphlets, which emphasised on WHO’s theme for 2024 that is ‘ Protecting Children from Tobacco Industry Interference’. The public awareness camp about World No Tobacco day was successfully coordinated by Dr . P. Sivakumar , Head of Department, Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Neehara, Assistant Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy.

  • FIELD VISIT- IMAGE 2024
    Prime college of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for third semester B Pharmacy students (2022 batch) with staff coordinators Mrs. Silpa. G, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics and Mr. Shebin. A, Assistant Professor, at IMAGE, state-of-the art Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility at Palakkad on 29-05-2024 and 31-05-2024. This field visit helped students to understand and to improve their knowledge on Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility. Ms. Anjitha P.R, Environmental Engineer Trainee and Mr. Jinish Raj, Operations Assistant, explained about the institution to students along with a video which helped the students to know more on them. Mr. Naveen, Engineer explained the working and operations of all the machineries and equipment’s used there. The field visit was very useful for the students to know about largest Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal facility in India.

  • WORLD MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY 2024
    Menstrual Hygiene Day, observed annually on May 28th, is a global initiative aimed at breaking the silence and raising awareness about the importance of good menstrual hygiene management. The theme for Menstrual Hygiene Day this year is: “Together for a Period Friendly World.”  As a part of this day, Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) organized a seminar session on menstrual hygiene for the B Pharmacy students. Dr. Satya Prabha G, Department of Pharmacy Practice has taken the class on the theme to highlight the importance of menstrual care, and raise awareness. Menstruation is a natural part of a girl’s life. The second year, third year and fourth year students have participated in the program. Hygiene facilities must be physically accessible for everyone within or in the immediate vicinity of each household, health or educational institution, public institutions and places, and the workplace. Ideally, they should be located inside or adjacent to toilets. Hygiene facilities need to be accessible on a reliable and continuous basis, to satisfy all needs throughout the day. The session was very informative. The program was well coordinated by Mrs. Jyothi A, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Prime College of Pharmacy.

  • FIELD VISIT TO PRIMARY HEALTH CENTRE,KODUMBU,PALAKKAD
    Prime College of Pharmacy had successfully organized a field visit for the first year D. Pharmacy students (2023 batch) to Primary Health Centre, Kodumbu Gram Panchayat, Palakkad on 21/05/2024. The field visit was based on the new D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the Social Pharmacy syllabus. Staff nurse, Sumithra, Primary Health Centre, Kodumbu gave a brief introduction about Primary Health Centre practices and the role Pharmacist in community health. Pharmacist of the Primary Health Centre interacted with students about vital role of Pharmacist in medication management. This experience provided the knowledge about process of medication dispensing, labelling, and patient education for the students.   • FIELD VISIT TO GOVERNMENT AYURVEDIC DISPENSARY, PALAKKAD
    Prime College of Pharmacy had successfully organized a field visit for the first year D. Pharmacy Students (2023 batch) to the Government Ayurvedic Dispensary, Kodumbu Grama Panchayath ,Palakkad on 21/05/2024. The field visit was based on the new D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the Pharmacognosy syllabus. Dr. Bishnu. S. Prasad , Medical Officer, Government Ayurvedic Dispensary, gave a brief introduction about Ayurvedic systems of medicine.  The Pharmacist of the dispensary interacted with students about  the traditional and  market preparation of various Ayurvedic classical and preparatory  dosage forms. He also explained about the indications, labelling  requirements and the dispensing methods of Ayurvedic  medicines. It was very useful for the students to understand about different Ayurvedic dosage forms and labelling requirements. Dr. Aparna S.S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice, Prime College of Pharmacy accompanied the students.

  • HANDS ON TRAINING PROGRAMME ON HANDLING OF DISSOLUTION APPARATUS
    Prime College of Pharmacy organized a Hands on Training programme on Handling of Dissolution Apparatus for the Fifth Semester B Pharmacy students on 15-05-2024. The resource person for the session was Mr. Shyam S Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics. It was a live demonstration to enhance the student's understanding about the dissolution apparatus, its’ working procedure and the determination of drug’s bioavailability and efficacy using it. He detailly explained about the various dissolution apparatus used commonly and also the various parameters including dissolution rate, dissolution profile, and dissolution efficiency. These added insights into how quickly and completely the drug dissolves. Students came to know about the mechanism of drug dissolution with clear cut idea about the means and ways of handling the apparatus.

  • A TRAINING PROGRAMME ON HPTLC HANDLING TECHINIQUES
    Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC organized a professional development training programme on Calibration techniques and handling of HPTLC for teaching faculties , M Pharm students and Lab assistants on 14/05/2024 . The programme was inaugurated by Principal, Prof. Dr N L Gowrishankar . The professional development training programme was delivered by Mr. Senthil Udaiyar, Senior Service engineer, Anchrom,Mumbai. The programme mainly focused to demonstrate the calibration of equipment, Sample feeding, TLC plate preparation and their handling, interpretation and documentation of results. The session also discussed about the parameters of HPTLC and their influence on analytical results. He explained about the Standardized HPTLC methodology, Derivatization procedures, Qualitative evaluation of chromatograms, Proper sampling techniques, Use of different stationary phases, Effects of the chamber configuration, Application of digital imaging technology for documentation and evaluation of chromatograms. He concluded the session by emphasizing the importance of HPTLC techniques in various Research areas. Mrs.Amrutha.CU, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics delivered the Vote of thanks.

  • WORLD MALARIA DAY 2024
    World Malaria Day is an international observance commemorated every year on 25 April and recognizes global efforts to control malaria. It is an occasion to highlight the need for continued investment and sustained political commitment for malaria prevention and control. The theme -- "My Health, My Right" -- underscores the urgent need to address the stark inequities that persist in access to malaria prevention, detection and treatment services. On behalf of this day, Third Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elappully, Palakkad. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the importance of preventing the disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of prevention and treatment of disease.Dr. Anoop, Medical Superintendent, Elappully , extended his sincere efforts to make this camp a great success.   • WORLD HEALTH DAY 2024
    World Health Day 2024 is celebrated every year on April 7 to raise awareness around various health issues worldwide. From longevity to happiness, health impacts all spheres of life. The theme for World Health Day 2024 is 'My health, My right’. This year’s theme was chosen to champion the right of everyone, everywhere to have access to quality health services, education, and information, as well as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination. On behalf of this day, Eighth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy in association with IQAC and NSS Unit ( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme on 06-04-2024, Saturday at Family Health Centre , Pudussery. Mr. Shoban, Health Inspector has inaugurated the program by delivering a speech on the importance of Health as well as on our individual right to breathe a clean air , good water, and quality food. Students actively participated in the program by distributing pamphlets to the patients and bystanders making them aware on the importance of the day. Mrs. Aysumma C U, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics and Dr. Aparna S S, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice accompanied the students.

  • WORLD TUBERCULOSIS DAY 2024
    Each year we commemorate World Tuberculosis Day, March 24, to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. World TB Day is a day to educate the public about the impact of TB around the world. The theme of World TB Day 2024 - ‘Yes! We can end TB!’ – conveys a message of hope that getting back-on-track to turn the tide against the TB epidemic is possible through high level leadership. On behalf of this day, Fifth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no.NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Primary Health Centre, Kodumbu, Palakkad. Our students distributed Pamphlets focusing importance of preventing of the disease. They highlighted the scaling up of active efforts to find TB, ensuring the provision of preventative TB treatment for people at high risk, increasing access to quality-assured rapid diagnosis of TB and achieving full uptake of highly effective, safe and short treatment regimens for TB and drug-resistant TB.     World Kidney Day is celebrated on every second Thursday of March. It’s a day marked by global events, health screenings, and educational campaigns, all focused on kidney health. It is an annual event that aims to raise awareness about the importance of our kidneys and the vital role they play in our overall health. The theme for the 2024 campaign is “Kidney Health for All - Advancing Equitable Access to Care and Optimal Medication Practice”.' This theme focuses on the increasing burden of chronic kidney disease and achieving optimal kidney care to overcome these challenges at different levels. On behalf of this day, Eighth Semester students of Prime College of Pharmacy ,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Hospital, Elappully, Palakkad. The goal was to create global awareness about the high and increasing burden of kidney diseases and the need for strategies for kidney diseases prevention and management. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and advantages of keeping a healthy way of life to decrease the risk of Chronic Kidney disease. They actively took part in the campaign, stressing the significance of preventive behaviors, risk factors, and how to live with a kidney disease.   • PRIME PHARMA CONCLAVE 2024
    A two-day International Conference- “Prime Pharma Conclave 2024: Reimaging The Emerging Pharmacy Scenario” on “Translational Research In Academic Organizations: From Bench To Bedside”was organized by Prime College Of Pharmacy in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates’ Association (Kerala State Branch). The International Conference held on 11th and 12th of January 2024, aimed to bring light to various aspects and thereby sparking thoughtful discussions and stimulating new ideas.About 600 delegates, students and well distinguished national and International speakers actively took part in the two day Conference. Prof. Dr. N.L Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the welcome address and followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. P.A Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. Dr. Rajasree. R.S, Honourable Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KUHS, inaugurated the prestigious ceremony followed by the abstract release. Shri. P. M. Jayan, President, IPGA, Kerala State Branch, delivered the Key note address and Special address was given by Prof. Dr C.I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. Dr. C S Satheesh Kumar, Vice President, IPGA released the Newsletter- INTRUZION. Dr. Nishith. M. C, Vice President- South, IPGA Executive Council and Mr. Dileep. G, Secretary, IPGA, Kerala State Branch addressed the gathering . Mr. Saju Rajappan, Senior Drugs Inspector, Thrissur and Mr. Lijeesh. A. K, Drugs Inspector, Palakkad delivered the felicitation. Prof. Dr. A. Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy concluded the inaugural ceremony with a Vote of Thanks. The scientific sessions covered various dimensions of the theme by six well distinguished speakers. The first scientific session on “Relevance and Scope of Social Media in Current Pharmaceutical Academic And Research Environment” was delivered by Dr. Kamal Dua, Senior Lecturer University of Technology Sydney, Discipline of Pharmacy Graduates, School of Health, Sydney, Australia. Dr. Harish Dureja, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, ,Haryana presented the second scientific session on “Digital Therapeutics and Pharmaceutical Regulatory Environment. The third scientific session was given by Dr. K. Gowthamarajan, Professor and Head of Department of Pharmaceutics, JSS academy of higher education and research, Mysore, Karnataka on “Pharmaceutical Research-Current and Future Challenges”. Dr. Sachin Kumar Singh, Professor & Head of Dept. of Pharmaceutical Chemistry & Analysis, School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Lovely Professional University, Punjab delivered the last scientific session of the day on “Cross Talk Between Phytoconstituents And Nanotechnology In Mitigating Various Diseases”.After the four scientific sessions, the first day ended with incredible cultural programmes by our students. The second day of Prime Pharma Conclave 2024 started with the scientific session by Dr. Satheesh Babu Natarajan, Head of Department of Pharmaceutics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Lincoln University College, Malaysia on “Entrepreneurial Opportunities In Herbal Industry”. The heart of the Prime Pharma Conclave 2024 was the Live Demonstrations and e-poster presentations. The Live Demonstrations-“3D Printing” by 3-ZERO and “Beyond Boundaries-AR-NR reshaping Pharma Landscape” by Kewaunee Labway India Pvt Ltd was really engaging.Students and delegates of different departments of various colleges actively participated in the e-poster presentations. The scientific sessions ended with a talk by Mr. Anoop Ambika, Chief Executive Officer, Kerala Start Up Mission, Nodal Agency of Government of Kerala on “Start Up Mission: Start Up Opportunities And Government Schemes In Pharmacy Field”. The most awaited IPGA Meritorious Award ceremony and Valedictory function was held after the scientific sessions. Dr. Nishith. M. C, Vice President- South, IPGA, Executive Council welcomed the gathering to the award ceremony, followed by the Presidential Address by Shri. P. M. Jayan, President, IPGA, Kerala State Branch. Mr. Anoop AmbikaChief Executive Officer, Kerala Start Up Mission, Nodal Agency of Government of Kerala proudly inaugurated the IEDC of our college. Dr. Rajasree. R.S, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, KUHS delivered the special address and Mr. Abdul Nazeer, Executive member IPGA felicitated the gathering, followed by the declaration of IPGA Awards by Mr. Dileep. G, Secretary, IPGA , Kerala State Branch. Ramabhadran Memorial Best Pharmacy Teacher Award was awarded to Dr. Dileep K.J, Professor, T.D Medical College, Alappuzha. N. Chandrashekhar Nair Memorial Best Drug Regulatory Officer Award was presented to Mr. Joshy T I, Drugs Inspector, Ernakulam. G.R. Nair Memorial Best Community Pharmacist was awarded to Mr. Patroni DCosta. Dr.S. B. Rao Memorial Best Industrial Pharmacist was awarded to Mr. Sreejith P.R. The certificates, cash award and memento was distributed to the winners of e- poster presentations. The glorious function ended with National Anthem.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON THYROID AWARENESS
    Thyroid Awareness Month is marked every January to emphasize the importance of thyroid health. The theme of Thyroid Awareness Month 2024 is “Nurturing Thyroid Health: Knowledge, Detection and Wellness.” We are committed to this mission and educate the people about thyroid patients. As a part of this an awareness programme was conducted on Jan 19th 2024 at Prime College of Pharmacy. A session was made by Dr. Aparna. S. S, Assistant professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice. 94 B Pharmacy students attended the awareness session. The programme created understanding on vital role of thyroid in body functions, encouraging testing and early treatment for thyroid dysfunctions and advocating for awareness about the different types of thyroid diseases. Thyroid awareness month aim to bring awareness to recognize potential indicators of thyroid issues, such as fatigue, weight changes and mood swings to promote timely intervention. It’s a time to recognize the impact of thyroid and to promote better health through awareness and education. The session also focused on the diet plans, life style management, medications etc for preventing thyroid disease.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON CERVICAL HEALTH AWARENESS
    January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, an ideal chance for WHO and partners to raise awareness of cervical cancer and vaccination against human papillomavirus (HPV), the main cause of cervical cancer. This year, objective is to dramatically reduce the occurrence of cervical cancer by 2030 and to eliminate the disease as a public health problem by 2120. As a part of it, Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an educative session entitled “New drug development on cervical cancer” on 23rd January 2024. The session was given by Dr. Varsha V K, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice. The session was informative on early detection and prevention of cervical cancer. Attendees gained knowledge on new drug development in the field of cervical cancer. It significantly contributed our students over all education and broaden their knowledge. The session winded up with the slogan “Together, we can strive to end cervical cancer within a few generations”.

  • WORLD LEPROSY DAY 2024
    World Leprosy Day is observed every year on the last Sunday of January. In India, it takes place on 30 January every year. The theme for World Leprosy Day 2024 is “Beat Leprosy”. This theme encapsulates the dual objectives of the day: to eradicate the stigma associated with leprosy and to promote the dignity of people affected by the disease. The theme of “Beat Leprosy” serves as a powerful reminder of the need to address the social and psychological aspects of leprosy, alongside the medical efforts to eliminate the disease. It calls for a world where leprosy is no longer a source of stigma but rather an opportunity to demonstrate compassion and respect for all individuals. The NSS UNIT (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) along with IQAC of Prime College of Pharmacy in collaboration with Kodumbu Grama Panchayath has conducted an awareness program at 11th ward. Mr. Chandran C, 11th ward member has inaugurated the programme. The students were divided in to five groups and given awareness about the leprosy to the public. They covered around 118 houses in the areas of Alayamkadu, Velunkadu and Kadiramkunnam. Asha worker Mrs. Rajakumari has also accompanied the students. Mrs. Jyothi A & Ms. Ameena Salim has coordinated the programme.

  • WORLD CANCER DAY 2024
    World Cancer Day aims to promote awareness on cancer as a public health issue and to strengthen actions towards improving access to quality care, screening, early detection, treatment and palliative care. This year’s theme marks the second year of the campaign “Close the care gap” which is about understanding the inequities in cancer care and taking actions to make the necessary progress to address them. Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an awareness programme on 5th February at Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The awareness programme was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Anilkumar. He focussed on examining the socioeconomic factors that lead to disparities in cancer prevention, incidence and survival, such as cultural and gender norms, income and education levels, and biases based on age, gender, ethnicity, disability and lifestyle. Additionally, the call for increased action to improve cancer awareness, prevent cancer, support advancements in diagnostics and treatment, and address the shortcomings in health systems was also highlighted. Third Semester B Pharm students actively participated in the programme by distributing leaflets and made individual interaction and created awareness among patients and public regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Mr.Suraj, Health Inspector, Public relative officer has given the fecilitation for the awareness programme. Dr. P.Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Mrs. Basheera V, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice accompanied the students.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON CONCEPTS OF PRACTICE SCHOOL AND ELECTIVE SUBJECT SELECTION
    An Internal seminar was conducted for the 6th semester B Pharm students on the topic Concepts of Practice School and elective subject selection by Mrs. Aiswarya A T, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice on 23/12/2023. She emphasized on various departments and scope in Pharmacy. The session enabled the students to acquire learning by applying the knowledge and skills they possess, in unfamiliar, open-ended real life situations and also helps to develop excellent skills to put in the students main core. The seminar highlighted on how to implement and assess an elective course that engages students’ interest in and directs them toward a career in academics. The interaction about Practice School and elective subjects was successful and provided students with an awareness about another career avenue to consider upon graduation.

  • HANDS ON TRAINING ON LABORATORY EQUIPMENTS USED IN PHARMACEUTICS
    A live demonstration was conducted to enhance the student's understanding on tablet punching machine working procedure and tablet preparation. The demonstration class was given by Mr. Shyam. S. Kumar, Associate Professor to our IV semester B. Pharm students on 12.12.2023. The experience not only enriched the student's theoretical knowledge but also equipped them with practical skills essential for their academic and professional development in the field of pharmacy.The practical training aimed to familiarize the students with the complexities of tablet manufacturing, offering valuable insights into the pharmaceutical industry's processes.

  • D PHARM ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2023
    On December 11, 2023, at the college auditorium, Prime College of Pharmacy hosted an orientation session for recently admitted D Pharm students. Making parents and students aware of the academic components of the courses, the institute's norms and regulations, and the importance of parental involvement in monitoring their children's achievement and development. The Programme was started by seeking blessings from almighty; Our Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was given by Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. The Programme was officially inaugurated by Mr. B. Rahim, Secretary, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. The function was progressed with a key note address by Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. The felicitation address was given by Prof. Dr. K. Selvaraju, HOD, Department of Pharmaceutics and Prof. Dr. T Sengottuvel, HOD, Department of Pharmacology. Vice Principal, Prof. Dr. A. Sumathy delivered the Vote of Thanks. Later on our Faculties briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the institute, hostel and requested the students and parents to understand and abide by the institutional rules and norms.

  • INTERNAL SEMINAR ON STRATEGIES FOR MANAGEMENT AND PREVENTION OF NON-COMMUNICABLE DISEASES
    Non communicable diseases are medical conditions that are not caused by infectious agents. These are chronic diseases of long duration, and generally with slow progression and are the result of combination of genetic, environmental and behavioural factors. Prime College of Pharmacy in association organized an Internal seminar on “Strategies for management and preventation of non-communicable diseases” for the Seventh Semester B Pharm students on 27.11.2023, Monday. Dr. P. Sivakumar, Head Of Department, Pharmacy Practice conducted the Seminar. He took an awareness class about the risk factors like obesity, tobacco use and physical inactivity and the preventive measures and management to avoid the problems associated with the non-communicable diseases. Students actively participated in the seminar conducted in Seminar hall.

  • NATIONAL EDUCATION DAY-2023
    Every year, 11th November is observed as National Education Day in India to commemorate the birth anniversary of MaulanaAbulKalam Azad, to honor his efforts in laying the foundation of India's education system.The theme for this year is 'Embracing Innovation' which emphasises on the importance of the innovative approaches to promote creative and unique teaching methods. This theme highlights the importance of innovation in education and the need to promote creative and progressive teaching methods. Prime College of Pharmacy in association with Institution’s Innovation Council organized an Internal Seminar on 13-11-2023 by Mrs. D. Deborah Evangeline, Associate Professor, Prime College of Pharmacyfor the First Semester B Pharm and First year Pharm D students, highlighting the importance of education and its positive impact on the nation’s development and well-being. The Seminar discussed the history and future perspectives of Pharmacy Education in India.

  • FIELD VISIT TO M/S LABINDUSS LTD-2023
    Prime College of Pharmacy had successfully organized a field visit dated 01/11/2023 for First year D. Pharm Students (2022 batch) with Placement in charge Mr. A. Mohamed Harish, and staff coordinator Mrs. Aysumma C.U visited the Labinduss Ltd, Pharmaceutical Company, Kanjikode, Palakkad. Manufacturers of liquid oral preparations and semisolid dosage forms. This field visit was mainly focused based on the new regulations of D. Pharm (ER 2020) for the subject Pharmaceutics. It was very useful for the students to understand about Layout of Manufacturing Plant and procedures for manufacturing of liquid oral and semisolid dosage forms.

  • 8th IPSF APRO GPPEd 2023
    IPGA- SF organized the 8th IPSF APRO GPPEd 2023 an International Conference under which various competitions and workshops on 14th September - 17th September 2023 under the patronage of Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association and Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association welfare trust. The theme of the conference was “Bridging the Gap- Form Volume to Value” at SGT University, Budhera, Gurugram, Haryana. Various events and competitions were conducted such as Symposium, Poster presentation, Compounding and Dispensing, Group Discussion, Exposition, Market-mania, Case study presentation, Interactive sessions, Lets see your prescription. Our Prime College of Pharmacy, IPGS Student forum members actively participated in Compounding and Dispensing “PHARMABLEND” Competition. The students won the competition with second prize.

  • PRIME PHARMA PLACEMENT DRIVE 2023
    Placement cell of Prime College of Pharmacy, Palakkad organized a Placement drive with Suhail Enterprises for LIFE Pharmacy, UAE, Dubai for B. Pharm and M. Pharm final year students on 29.09.2023, Friday. The programme started with the welcome address by Prof. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, followed by the inaugural address by Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. A. Sumathy, Vice Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. Panel of two members, Mr. T.E Tajumon, HR Manager, and Mr. A, Safeerullah, Asst. HR Manager , Suhail Enterprises conducted the interview session for the posts of Pharmacists, Trainee Pharmacists, Sales Associates and Medical representatives. A strong drive to succeed has fueled LIFE's expansion over the past 20 years since it began as a retail pharmacy business in 1996. About 90 students from various colleges registered the interview held in the college auditorium. They took part in the Personnel interview session followed by the group discussion. The shortlisted candidates were informed to report for the final round of interview to be held at Cochin in the second week of October. Overall experience and feedback of the LIFE team was very positive as the need of their organization to search the right talent to drive its objectives was fulfilled by our students.

  • WORLD PHARMACIST DAY-2023
    Every year on September 25, we commemorate World Pharmacist Day to honor Pharmacists for their contributions to enhancing world health. World Pharmacists Day is observed with the aim of supporting initiatives that highlight and defend the contribution that Pharmacists make to global health improvement.The theme for World Pharmacist Day 2023 is "Pharmacy strengthening health systems." This year's campaign presents opportunities that can help increase awareness of pharmacists as an intelligent solution.Prime College of Pharmacy in association with NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) and IQAC organized the World Pharmacist Day 2023 celebration at Pudussery Family Health Centre. The event started with an inaugural address by Dr. Athira, Medical Officer followed by a session by Mr. Shogan Babu, Health Inspector and Mrs.Nagajyothi, Pharmacist, FHC, Pudussery to acknowledge and express gratitude for the essential role pharmacists play in our society. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Mohamed Harish .A, Dr. Aparna S. S and Ms. Aiswarya S of Prime College of Pharmacy. About 20 students of IV Semester B Pharm performed a Flash Mob to raise awareness about the prominence of Pharmacists in society. Dr. Aparna S S, Assistant Professor concluded the session by seeking the public attention about the safe utilization of medications, healthcare and Pharmacy products. This special day ends up emphasizing the critical significance of Pharmacists and Pharmacy professionals in the domain of healthcare.

  • PHARMA CONNECT 2023
    A one-day seminar PHARMA CONNECT, was organized by startup Mission (Government of Kerala) in collaboration with Medtech Consortium and IPGA (Kerala State Branch) on 23rd September 2023. Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM, formerly known as Technopark TBI) is the central agency of the Government of Kerala for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities in Kerala, India. KSUM was primarily founded to undertake the planning, establishment, and management of the technology business incubator (TBI), a startup accelerator in Kerala, to promote technology-based entrepreneurship activities, and to create the infrastructure and environment required to support high-technology-based businesses.Final year B. Pharm students along with IPGA Student forum members and faculty of our college Mr. A Mohamed Harish, IPGA Coordinator, Dr. T Sengottuvel, Professor, Dept. of Pharmacology, Mrs. Sruthi T P, Associate Professor, Dept. of Pharmaceutics attended the seminar. Students attained knowledge about various opportunities in Pharmacy and Startup opportunities in the Pharma sector. For new startups in Kerala, available Government schemes have been described in detail and made enthusiasm among the student community.

  • NATIONAL PHARMACOVIGILANCE WEEK 2023
    National Coordination Centre - Pharmacovigilance Programme of India, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission is celebrated 3rd National Pharmacovigilance Week from 17-23 september 2023. The Theme for this year was "Boosting Public Confidence in Pharmacovigilance". Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an internal seminar on 18. 09. 2023 based on the theme. The speaker for the session was Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice. An awareness programme was conducted on 20.09.2023 at Pudussery Family Health Centre organized by IQAC & NSS Unit (NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1). The welcome address was given by Health Inspector Mr. Shogan Babu. The students actively participated in the awareness programme regarding Adverse drug reactions, Pharmacovigilance and Methods & importance of ADR Reporting by visiting outpatient department. The felicitation was given by Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice and Vote of thanks was conveyed by Mrs. Basheera. V, Associate Professor.

  • WORLD PATIENT SAFETY DAY-2023
    Patient Safety Day is one of the WHO’s global public health days, established in 2019 by the 72nd World Health Assembly. The aim of World Patient Safety Day is to influence stakeholders including patients, families, policy makers, health care leaders, health workers and patient organizations to work collaboratively and to enhance Patient Safety. On behalf of World Patient safety Day, Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted an awareness programme on 18.09.23, Monday. Mrs. Aiswarya A.T Associate Professor has presented a presentation based on the theme “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety”. She has conveyed the importance of Pharmacist on improving patient safety as well as the major factors involved in it. The interactive session between the students and the faculty effectively conveyed the objectives of Patient Safety which includes raising global awareness, engaging health care professionals and patients and empowerment of patients and their families.

  • WORLD FIRST AID DAY TRAINING PROGRAMME-2023
    World First Aid Day is a global annual event observed annually on the Second Saturday of every September with the intention to promote awareness about the role of First Aid in saving lives. The aim of the day is to raise awareness of how First Aid saves lives every day, especially in situations of crisis. World First Aid Day 2023 focuses on the theme -“First Aid in the Digital World”. A one day awareness program was organized at Prime College of Pharmacy on behalf of this day. The program was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. N.L. Gowrishankar , Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. The session started with a class by Dr. T. Sengottuvel , Professor, Department of Pharmacology. He explained about the on the need to know about the right first aid methods during emergencies. He presented a video about the CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) and explained with a demo to the B pharmacy students. The training focused on aim of first aid, how to perform CPR, definition and types of bandages, wound care, how to manage every day minor accidents and learn how to treat an unconscious and breathing casualty and manage minor cuts, grazes, bleeding and burns. The session provided an on opportunity for everybody to promote and gain knowledge in First Aid.

  • WORLD HUMANITARIAN DAY, 2023
    World Humanitarian Day is dedicated to honoring humanitarian efforts and recognizing the contributions of those who work tirelessly to provide aid and assistance to people in need, particularly in times of crisis and conflict. On 19 August, we come together to honor humanitarians around the world who strive to meet ever-growing global needs. The theme for World Humanitarian Day 2023 is “The Human Race with the slogan, it takes a village”. On behalf of this day, along with IQAC, we organized a seminar on “Role of pharmacist in rural health” by Prof. Dr. P. Sivakumar, HOD, Dept. of Pharmacy Practice. Second Semester, Fifth Semester B Pharmacy students and First year D Pharmacy students were present in the seminar hall. The event focused on bringing people together from all walks of life.

  • WORLD HEPATITIS DAY 2023
    World Hepatitis day is observed every year on 28th July bringing the world together under a single theme to raise awareness on burden of Viral Hepatitis.“ We’re not waiting” is call to action WHD 2023. It’s a call to accelerate elimination efforts of Viral Hepatitis now and the urgent need for testing and treatment at the earliest. Prime College of Pharmacy conducted Hepatitis awareness programme at Family Health Centre, Pudussery. The awareness programme was cordially supported by the medical officer- Dr. Athira and Health Inspector- Mr. Shogan Babu. The event was coordinated by Mr. A. Mohammed Harish, Sr. Lecturer and Dr. Archa S, Assistant Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy. Our students had begun the event with a flash mob to seek public attention, highlighting the importance of the day. The students circulated the leaflets on Hepatitis and given counseling to the patients. The programme created awareness among the public regarding Hepatitis by the students on behalf of our college.   • WORLD ASTHMA DAY AWARENESS PROGRAMME 2023
    As a part of World Asthma Day 2023, Prime College of Pharmacy has organized an awareness programme based on the theme “Asthma care for all”. The welcome speech was given by Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, Associate Professor. The seminar was delivered by Dr. Sivakumar. P, Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice, he talked about the importance of world asthma day to the gathering and highlighted the care for asthma. The seminar was informative to the students regarding the etiology, management and prevention of asthma. A demo session was also conducted regarding the use of inhalers. The vote of thanks was given by Assistant Professor Mrs. Pooja.

  • D. PHARM ORIENTATION - 21/02/2023
    Prime college of pharmacy organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted D. Pharmacy students in our college auditorium on 21st February 2023. The programme started with the prayer song followed by welcome address delivered by our honorable Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable trust. The programme was inaugurated by Mr. B. Rahim, Secretary, Prime Educational and Charitable trust and addressed the gathering. Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable trust addressed the gathering and gave an observable talk to develop positive energy in students and he provided some professional information about the paramedical courses.   • B. PHARM ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2022 BATCH
    The orientation programme for our ninth batch of B.Pharmacy was held at Prime College auditorium on 17/01/2023. The programme started with a prayer song by B.Pharm students. Our honourable Principal Prof.Dr.N.L.Gowrishankar welcomed the gathering. The presidential address was given by Dr.P.A.Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable trust. The inauguration of the programme was done by Mr.B.Raheem, Secretary, Prime Educational and Charitable trust by presuming an inspirational speech for the parents and students to reach their destiny with a determination. The Executive Trustee of Prime Educational and Charitable trust Prof.Dr.C.I.Sajeeth delivered the keynote address to the gathering with his motivational speech by conveying informations related with the scope in pharmacy. The felicitation was given by Prof.Dr.K.Selvaraju, HOD, Department of Pharmaceutics providing professional informations about Pharmacy field.   • FIRE SAFETY AND FIRST AID AWARENESS PROGRAMME JANUARY 2023
    Prime college of Pharmacy in association with Fire and Rescue Department of Government of Kerala has organised an awareness programme on "Fire safety and First aid" on 06.01.2023. The programme started with a prayer song. The welcome address was delivered by Mrs. A.Sumathy, Vice Principal and the programme was inaugurated by Mr. C. Sathish, Fire & Rescue officer, Kanjikode. He has given a detailed information about various safety and life saving measures during natural calamities and various accidents. Mr.R.Santhosh, Fire & Rescue officer felicitated the gathering and explained about how to use fire extinguisher. Mr.Chandu Lal, Fire & Rescue officer demonstrated the first aid procedures and handling of fire hazards to the audience. The vote of thanks was given by Mrs.D.Deborah Evangeline, Associate Professor and the programme ended with National Anthem.

  • The orientation programme for First year B. Pharmacy was virtually conducted on 2/12/2020 due to the pandemic. The welcome address was delivered by our honorable Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. The presidential address was delivered by Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable trust. Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable trust addressed the gathering and gave an observable talk to develop positive energy in students and he provided some professional information about the paramedical courses. S, Assistant Professor gave awareness about the rules and regulations of the institution and Ms. Revathy. C, Assistant Professor informed about the hostel rules and regulations.   • Prime college of pharmacy organized an orientation programme for the newly admitted D. Pharmacy students in our college auditorium on 14th May 2021. Welcome address was delivered by our principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. Ms. Shahanaz. M, Assistant Professor briefed the course & syllabus. Mrs. Anjitha. K, Assistant Professor gave awareness about the rules and regulations of the institution and Mrs. Poornima. M Assistant Professor informed about the hostel rules and regulations. Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs. Sruthi. T.P, Assistant Professor. The orientation programme concluded with the National Anthem.

The programme started with the prayer song followed by welcome address by our principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. The presidential address was delivered by Mr. B. Rahim, Secretary, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. The function progressed with a key note address by Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust. He gave motivation to the students by his professional talk. Ms. Shahanaz. M, Assistant Professor briefed the students about the rules and regulations of the institution and Ms. Reshma Francis, Assistant Professor informed about the hostel rules and regulations, also requested the students and parents to understand and abide by the institutional rules and norms.   • National Pharmacy Week is being celebrated every year in the last week of November, to create awareness among public about the role of Pharmacist in public health. The theme for NPW 2019 was “Pharmacist Your Medication Counsellor”. The inauguration of 58th National Pharmacy Week celebration was held at Prime College of Pharmacy, Palakkad on Saturday, 30th November 2019 in the college auditorium. Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime college of pharmacy, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the objectives of pharmacy week. Dr. P. A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust, delivered the presidential address. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. C. I. Jolly, Research Advisor, CARe KERALAM Ltd. and president of Indian Pharmaceutical Assiociation, Kerala state branch. He emphasized the importance of pharmacist in health care team and also highlighted the role of pharmacist in patient care. Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust, delivered a keynote address on theme of NPW 2019. Prizes for winners of World Pharmacist Day & Arts Day were distributed thereafter. Mrs. Gifty. M. A Seminar on the topic “Drug Discovery & Drug Development” was presented by Dr. C. I. Jolly. As a part of Pharmacy week celebrations, our students actively competed in seminar and poster presentations.

  • On behalf of 57 th National Pharmacy Week, Our College conducted different programmes for the students. The students actively participated in various seminar and poster presentations. The Programme was inaugurated by District Medical Officer, Palakkad, Dr. Rita. K. P. She emphasized the actual role of pharmacist in public health care. Presidential address was delivered by Dr. C.I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime College of Pharmacy. The First Newsletter of Prime College of Pharmacy “INTRUIZION” was released by the chief guest on this auspicious occasion.

  • World Pharmacist Day was celebrated on 25th September in Prime College of Pharmacy. The programme was organized by final year B. Pharmacy students of our Institution. The programme was inaugurated by our beloved Principal Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar. He focused a note to the gathering regarding the theme of World Pharmacist Day 2018 “Pharmacists: Your Medicine Experts”. As a part of the programme Essay writing (English, Malayalam), Pencil Drawing, Elocution (English, Malayalam), Quiz, Connectivity game and Magazine Making competitions were arranged for the students. Our students actively participated in all the events and the winners were announced.

National Pharmacy Week is being celebrated every year in the last week of November to create awareness among the general public about the role of pharmacist in public health. Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy, welcomed the gathering. He highlighted the objectives of the Pharmacy week and the various events chalked out for the week-long celebrations such as World Diabetes day celebration, deaddiction camps on alcohols and tobacco and career awareness by staff and students to create awareness among public. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Nishith M.C., Drug Inspector Palakkad. In his chief guest address, he emphasized upon the importance of pharmacist in the healthcare team. He also emphasized that the knowledge base of the pharmacist is crucial to enable him to perform multiple roles.

  • Prime College of Pharmacy organized an appreciation ceremony PRIM – APREZO – 2017 for the D. Pharm first outgoing batch in our auditorium on 25th October 2017. The programme was inaugurated by welcome address by our Principal Dr. N. L Gowrishankar. Prof. Dr. C. I. Sajeeth, Executive Trustee, Prime Educational and Charitable Trust and Dr. P.A. Mohammed Ashraf, Chairman, Prime educational and charitable trust graced the occasion. The chief guest of the ceremony was Sri. V. R Rajeev, Registrar, Kerala State Pharmacy Council, who inaugurated the placement cell. Rank holders and teachers securing 100% result in respective subjects were felicitated, Gopika. M, 6th Rank of state level was honoured. 

  • Our college conducted a seminar on Anti-Ragging laws on behalf of Taluk Legal Services Committee, Palakkad. The programme was conducted on Wednesday 27th September 2017, in the college campus at 2.00 pm Sri. Thushar. M, Secretary (Sub Judge), District Legal Services Authority presided the function. Prof. Dr. N. L. Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy welcomed the gathering. The programme was inaugurated by Smt. K. P. Indira, District Judge, Palakkad. Followed by the felicitation by our II B. Pharmacy student Miss. Raslin Rasha. A legal Literacy class was conducted on behalf of the District Legal Services authority, Palakkad and Taluk Legal Services Committee, Palakkad by Smt. K. Vijaya, Advocate, Palakkad. Mrs. Pooja Poulose, Asst. Professor, Prime College of Pharmacy delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was organized by our NSS unit Co-ordinator Mrs. A. Sumathy Asst.
