Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized an industrial visit for the final year (8 th semester) B.Pharmacy students (2020-24 batch) to Sami Sabinsa Industry, 19/1 & 19/2, Ⅰ Main, Ⅱ Phase Peenya Industrial Area, Bangalore 560058, India. Sami-Sabinsa Group is a research-focused multinational health science company which is a leading manufacturer of nutraceuticals and cosmeceutical ingredients, standardized herbal extracts, enzymes, probiotics, nutricosmetics, nutritional fine chemicals, and specialty chemicals. This visit provided the students with a wealth of knowledge about various independent research divisions, including Natural Drugs, Phytochemistry, Synthetic Chemistry, Tissue Culture, Biotechnology, Analytical R&D, Biological Research, Microbiology, and Formulation R&D. The students primarily gained an understanding of various extraction processes and quality control techniques for natural products, as well as insights into the evaluation processes of herbal formulations and scale-up procedures.
On behalf of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed between Lincoln University College Malaysia and Prime College of Pharmacy Palakkad, an academic visit was conducted for a duration of one week (05.08.2024 - 10.08.2024) to the M.Pharm students. The programme included academic workshops, Research presentation sessions, Community Pharmacy Visit and expedition in and around Malaysia. The MOU aims to foster Academic and Research collaboration, Student and Faulty exchange Programs on mutual understanding between the two institutions. The primary objectives of the student exchange program is to enhance Academic and Research experiences for students through international exposure and to provide opportunities for students to gain valuable global perspectives and skills. The visit started with an orientation programme organized by Lincoln University College Malaysia and inaugural address was delivered by the President Prof. Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, Felicitation by Dean of Pharmacy Dr. Hazrina BT Hamid followed by the presentation sessions by their faculty. The first session on Pharmacy Law in Action: Regulatory Drug Safety in Malaysia was given by Mr. Encik Mohamad Nizam Ghani and the second session on Nanotechnology Approach for Herbal Medicine was delivered by Dr. Satheesh Babu. The next part of the academic visit was Academic Integration and Networking through Research Lab Observation. The faculty and students performed Research activities in relevant departments to understand the teaching style and curriculum. Meeting with Faculty with academic advisors and Professors to discuss academic goals, course selection, and research opportunities. Engaged in Student Networking activities with LUC students and exchange participants to build connections and discuss Research experiences. The students were engaged with workshop sessions conducted by Dr.Satheeshbabu and Ms. Neha Unnisha which includes Herbal Extraction, Herbal extract drying and Formulation of Phytochemical Loaded Nanoparticles and Nanoemulsion. Dr. Gosuddin explained the Total Phenolic and Flavonoid Content using UV Spectroscopy and Dr.Nadiah conducted a hands on training in Antioxidant Activity using Microplate Reader. The students participated in group projects, Notable academic achievements, Student presentations, Research collaborations, etc. The teaching methods were interactive and student- centered, with a focus on collaborative learning. The Lincoln Research students shared their experiences with international peers. The next session was Academic and Extracurricular Exploration in which the activities explored the university’s research facilities, including access to academic and research databases. A Hands on training in Encapsulation Eficiency and Drug Loading Analysis using UV Spectroscopy, HPLC and application of Gas Chromatography in Pharmaceutical Analysis was conducted by Dr. Gosuddin and Dr. Satheesh Babu. The student clubs offered a wide range of activities, from academic societies to Research groups. The faculty and students of both Institutions participated in a community service by visiting MEDICART Community Pharmacy in Petaling Jaya aimed at contributing to local social causes. Mr. Nizam Ghani explained the system of handling a prescription and dispensing procedures to the public. The Chief Operation Officer Ms. Aslin Hafiza Ali supported for the smooth conduct of this student exchange programme. The student exchange program has been a successful initiative, achieving its goals of fostering academic and Research collaboration exchange. The positive outcomes for participating students highlight the program's value and underscore the importance of continued collaboration. Both institutions are committed to enhancing and expanding this program in the future to benefit more students and strengthen International Research Collaborations.

The final year students of 2018-22 B.Pharm batch visited the industry Cipla Goa Unit-V, Verna Industrial estate, Verna, Lotly Goa 403722. Taking the principle of caring for life forward, Cipla have worked towards enhancing the affordability of medicines worldwide, with 1500 products in 65 therapeutic categories available in over 50 dosage forms. The Students got an opportunity to gain knowledge about Pre-formulation and evaluation studies of parenterals and oral solid dosage forms. The students were allowed to explore various instruments under expert guidance.
Prime College of Pharmacy had successfully organized an industrial visit for M. Pharm and Eight semester B. Pharmacy students (2017-21 Batch) with staff coordinator Mr. A Mohamed Harish and visited Labinduss Pvt Ltd in Industrial development area, Kanjikode, Palakkad. The company Labinduss Private limited started its journey in 1984 to provide quality medicines that can be afforded even in the weakest section of the society. Labinduss has continuously improved its manufacturing facility to provide medicines with international standards. Labinduss has facilities for oral liquid section , External products. The manufacturing facility as per the WHO-GMP standards laid out by the central governing authority. R & D department has got a top of the class lab scale manufacturing facility for trial and development purposes. The aim of the industrial visit is to help the students to explore the various manufacturing techniques involved in the Pharmaceutical industry and also to understand the various roles and responsibilities of the pharmacist in the manufacturing industry. It also makes the students to interact with the Production Manager and understand the working methods and SOP’S. INDUSTRIAL VISIT 2016-20 B. PHARM BATCH The final year B. Pharmacy students (2016-20 batch) and staff coordinators visited Biozeen Bangalore Biotech Labs, pvt.ltd 49/2, Gubbi Cross, Kothanur Post, Bangalore, which is expertise in making medicines and bio therapeutics ranging from MABs to vaccines, insulin, plasma, enzymes and APIs. Our students got an incomparable opportunity to know more about different Sterile Biological products. The company delivers customized, process targeted, regulatory compliant and capital efficient bioprocess equipment such as fermenters, bioreactors and allied upstream and downstream equipments.
The first batch of final year B. Pharmacy students (2014-18 batch) and staff coordinators visited Therdose Pharma Private Limited plot number, 118, 119, road no: 6, a leap industrial estate, Pragathi Nagar, Kukatpally, Telangana-90 during the year 2018. The company is well known for its immense contributions in the field of dosage form, designing and development. The company concentrates in the manufacture of Parenterals and Oral solid dosage forms. Our students got an opportunity to gain knowledge about Pre-Formulation and Evaluation studies of Parenterals and Oral solid dosage forms. The students were allowed to explore various instruments under expert guidance.
