A Farewell programme, entitled OORTHIRIKKAM was organized at Prime College of Pharmacy for the final year B Pharm students(2020-2024 Batch).The memorable event was hosted by the Seventh Semester B Pharm students at college auditorium on12-04-2025.The programme was inaugurated by our Principal, Dr.N.L.Gowrishankar. The final year students were welcomed to share their experiences and memories.They expressed their gratitude towards the management ,faculty,friends and family ,who supported them throughout their journey.They also outlined their goals,aspirations and future endeavors.Students highlighted the notable events and achievements in their four year academic journey.Everyone took part in the activities and games held in between with great enthusiasm.The programme was made so lively by the cultural events organized by the students. The video played thereafter reflected their fond memories that strengthen their bond with the college and peers.The emotional event provided a meaningful way to acknowledge the past,appreciate the present and look forward to the future

As a part of this commitment, the college has initiated “Antidrug Campaign”that demonstrated the importance of education, awareness and support in preventing substance abuse among students.As a part of World Health Day 2025, Prime College of Pharmacy organized antinarcotic awareness seminar to the B.Pharm and Pharm.D students on 09.04.2025. The seminar aimed to highlight the dangers of drug abuse among students and to educate healthy lifestyles, importance of counseling services available for the students and to support the students in every way possible. The Seminar was led by the staff members Professor Dr. T. Sengottuvel and Associate Professor Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T, intended to educate participants about the risks and consequences associated with narcotics use and provide them with the necessary skills to make informed decisions. The session focused on the harmful effects of narcotics and their impact on physical and mental health, the social responsibilities of the Pharmacists in social wellbeing. The seminar provided a platform to learn about the hazards of narcotics and the importance of its prevention. The students expressed a desire to make positive changes in their behavior and lifestyle to avoid substance abuse.
Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a 4 day workshop cum hands on training for the Seventh Semester B. Pharm students from 07/04/2025 to 10/04/2025. The workshop was coordinated and led by the Staff members Dr. Muhasina K M, Mrs. Greeshma S and Ms.Niranjana C M of Department of Pharmaceutical Analysis. The programme covered High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC), operational principles and essential concepts, theory of separation mechanisms and modes, understanding the instrumentation, including possible configurations, solvent delivery pumps, sample injectors, columns, and detectors of HPLC.The workshop included a few special applications illustrated with real case studies and also a live demonstration of experiments,a simple group practical/hands?on sessionon data interpretation with real data, and a quick update on the latest techniques/developments in HPLC. The students understoodHPLC method development strategies, best practices in HPLC, basic maintenance of HPLC, troubleshooting process for problems like pressure, baseline, peak shape, and retention issues, and the practical applications of HPLC in Industry and academia. The students and faculty members for this hands-on training cum workshop actively attended and performed well throughout the session.
Prime College of Pharmacy conducted an internal seminar entitled Prescribing Patterns of Antibiotic Drugs in ENT for the first and second year Pharm D students on 28-03-2025.The session was led by Dr .P. Sivakumar , Professor and HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice. The seminar provided the guidance on the proper use of antibiotics in ENT practice, focusing on optimizing antibiotic therapy and offering evidence-based guidelines for rational prescribing of medicines. The talk emphasized the importance of collaboration between an ENT specialist, a primary health care Physician and a Pharmacist in promoting effective antibiotic stewardship. Students gained a deep understanding on the implications of antibiotic use and its misuse which is essential for making informed and responsible prescribing practices. The interdisciplinary approaches can significantly enhance patient care, especially in managing ENT infections. The insightful educational program highlighted the importance of an antibiotic use and better treatment outcomes. It was a valuable learning opportunity for the students that encouraged thoughtful discussions and provided various strategies for improving antibiotic prescribing in ENT practice.
Each year we commemorate World Tuberculosis Day to raise public awareness about the devastating health, social and economic consequences of Tuberculosis (TB) and to step up efforts to end the global TB epidemic. The observance of World TB Day highlights the urgent need for early diagnosis, effective treatment, its preventive measures. The theme for this year is “Yes! We Can End TB”,reinforcing the idea that ending tuberculosis is possible with collective effort. This theme encourages individuals, healthcare workers, and policymakers to work together to eliminate TB as a global health threat. On behalf of this day, Fifth Semester B Pharm students of Prime College of Pharmacy, in association with Pharmacy Practice Department, IQAC and NSS Unit no.( NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Government Head Quarters Hospital , Chittur, Palakkad on 24-03-2025. The programme has started with a speech by Residential Medical Officer, Dr. Rahul, detailing about the spreading & initial symptoms of tuberculosis. It was followed by a talk by the General Physician, Dr. Sudheesh, regarding the incubation period of TB , the various clinical laboratory tests for the diagnosis and also about the various services provided by the Government to eradicate the TB. Head Nurse ,Mrs. Rukmini, , and PRO, Mrs.Swathy along with the Junior Health Inspector, Mrs. Roja, explained about the community involvement in spreading awareness and reducing stigma. Our students distributed pamphlets to educate people about the risk factors and early diagnosis of TB, keeping a healthy way of life. They were successful in seeking attention of the public through the Flash Mob , held thereafter. Dr.P. Sivakumar ,Head Of the Department ,Pharmacy Practice and Dr. Sabitha TB, Associate Professor accompanied the students.
IMAGE is the biomedical waste treatment and disposal project of the Indian Medical Association. It is an institution of excellence and is now renowned as "THE KERALA MODEL" having catapulted God's Own Country ahead of other states in the field of Common Biomedical Waste Treatment and Disposal Facility (CBWTF). Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the Third semester B. Pharmacy students (2023 batch) to Indian Medical Association Goes Eco-friendly (IMAGE), Palakkad on 28/02/2025 and 01/03/2025. The Operational Coordinator of IMAGE Mr. Jinish Raj S M guided the students to the institution. Ms. Anjitha P R, Environmental Engineer gave a brief introduction about IMAGE-CBWTF. Mr. Naveen, Engineer guided and explained the working of plants and techniques of recycle effectively. This visit has given a deep knowledge about biomedical waste management. The students learned the techniques related to biomedical waste management methods such as incinerator , Autoclave etc. The staffs Dr. Kavitha K, Mrs. Silpa G, Mr. Shebin A and Mr Arun Giriraj accompanied the students.
Prime College of Pharmacy has organized an Internal seminar on Research Methods and Methodologies for Fifth Semester B. Pharm students on 28.02.2025 in the Seminar Hall. The session was lead by Associate Professor Mrs. Pradeepa P. She highlighted about various research methodologies, practical skills in designing and conducting research and application of research findings to real-world problems and practices. Students gained a deep understanding of the strengths and limitations of different research methods and to design and propose research studies using various methodologies. The session enhanced the critical thinking skills, effective communication and collaborations of research findings and application of research techniques in diverse practical contexts.
Prime College of Pharmacy successfully organized a field visit for the second year D. Pharmacy students (2022-2024 batch) to Family Health Centre, Pudussery on 22/02/2025 based on the new syllabus for D. Pharmacy (ER 2020) regulations for the subject of Community Pharmacy and Management. Mr. Shogen Babu R, Health Inspector gave a brief introduction about the Family Health Centre and the major roles and services provided to the society especially the role of Community Pharmacy. Mrs. Divya K, Cheif Pharmacist, and Pharmacist Mr. Mansoor, shared the details about the Community Pharmacy Management and the roles and responsibilities of a Pharmacist in their services. Mrs.Ambili.S.Nair, Junior Health Inspector, explained about the role of Pharmacist in various health educational programmes. This visit has provided the students with a wealth of knowledge about dispensing processes and different types of patient counselling strategies, vaccine storage and management of ice lined refrigerator, storage conditions of different types of medications, various documentation process regarding Community Pharmacy Management and various health education programmes. The staff members Mr.ArunGiriRaj.V and Dr.Akshaya. S accompanied the students on the field visit.
A Placement drive was organized by the Placement cell of Prime College of Pharmacy, Palakkad in association with Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited on 15-02-2025 for M. Pharm, B.Pharm, D.Pharm and Alumni students. The programme started with the Welcome address by Dr.A.Sumathy, Vice Principal, followed by the Inaugural address by Prof.Dr. N.L.Gowrishankar, Principal, Prime College of Pharmacy. Mr. Jyothis Johnson, Sr. Executive-HR of Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Limited delivered the chief guest address, he highlighted the roles, responsibilities and scope of being a Pharmacist and their career growth in Apollo group. Being a largest health care providers in India, with a legacy of experience and commitment in world class health care services, Apollo is a name that is synonymously with quality and excellence in health care.About 75 students registered for the posts of Trainee Pharmacist, Pharmacist and Clinical Pharmacist in the interview held at college auditorium. They took part in the Personnel interview session and the shortlisted candidates were informed to report for the final round of interview to be held later. Mr .A .Mohamed Harish, Placement in charge, delivered the felicitation. The very engaging Placement drive session was winded up by the Vote of Thanks by Mrs. Aiswarya. A. T,Associate Professor, Department of Pharmacy Practice.The overall experience and feedback from the team was very impressive as the need of their organization to search the right talent to drive its objectives was fulfilled by our students.The programme ended with the National Anthem by our students.
Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a field visit for Second year D. Pharm (2024-2025 Batch) at Taluk Hospital, Elappully on 14-02-2025. This field visit was mainly focused based on the new regulation of D. Pharmacy (ER-2020) for the subject Hospital and Clinical Pharmacy. The field visit was a different experience for the students as they learned about the roles and responsibilities of public health care teams. They visited all the departments in the hospital along with the Health care team and had the opportunity to learn about the importance of Pharmacy in a public health setting, particularly in a Taluk hospital where the community’s primary healthcare services are provided. Dr. Anup, Medical officer has given a session on the role of various departments in the hospital and their functions. The Chief Pharmacist Mrs. Latha explained about procurement of the medicines from the government sector , the average annual fund allotted by the government for medicine procurement, the infrastructure needed for the running the pharmacy, storage and documentation of schedule H drugs, information on dispensing and documentation the drugs. Also, she has given information regarding administration and dilution of medicines, patient counseling and health screening services to be provided for the patients. The staff members Mr. A. Mohammed Harish, Mr. Arun Giri Raj V, and Mrs. Aysumma C.U accompanied the students. This visit was very much informative and helpful to the students for understanding the role of the health care professionals in a hospital setting.
An internal seminar was conducted at Prime College of Pharmacy about Article Writing on 14.02.2025. It was an insightful and educational experience for final year B. Pharm and M. Pharm students. The session was led by Dr. T. Sengottuvel, Professor and Head of the Department of Pharmacology. The seminar aimed to provide guidance on research, organization, and writing techniques for article writing. The session emphasized on how to conduct research and gather relevant information for articles, to develop skills to write clear, concise, and engaging articles, how to Organize and structure articles for maximum impact and to pitch articles to editors and publishers effectively. He also discussed the best practices for getting articles published in various media outlets and made students to understand the importance of ongoing learning and professional development in article writing. Overall, the seminar equipped students with the essential tools to enhance their article-writing skills in the field of publishing.

World Cancer Day is a day to educate the public about the impact of Cancer around the world. The theme of World Cancer Day 2025–“United by Unique”– conveys a message which reminds that every cancer journey matters, and that collective action is key to ensuring compassionate, equitable care for all. On behalf of this day, Second Year Pharm.D students of Prime College of Pharmacy,in association with IQAC and NSS (Unit no.NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1) conducted an awareness programme at Taluk Headquarters Hospital, Chittur, Palakkad. The programme was inaugurated by Medical Superintendent, Dr. Anilkumar. He focussed on examining the socio-economic factors that lead to disparties in cancer prevention, incidence and survival such as cultural and gender norms, income and education levels, disability and lifestyle. He also highlighted the advancements in diagnostics and treatment. Mrs. Swathy, PRO,helped to arrange and coordinate the Flashmob performed by our students.Our students distributed Pamphlets and made individual interaction with patients and created awareness among public regarding cancer prevention and early diagnosis. Mrs. Pooja, Health Inspector, has given the felicitation address for the awareness programme.Dr. P. The NSS Unit (No. NSS/SFU/PKD/KUHS/1), IQAC and Department of Pharmacy Practice of Prime College of Pharmacy has conducted a Leprosy awareness programme at Primary Health Center, Kodumbu on 30.01.2025 aimed to reduce the disease burden, stigma and discrimination, prevent of disability and improve awareness about leprosy. Dr. P. Sivakumar HOD, Department of Pharmacy Practice welcomed the gathering and explained about the causes and preventive measures of leprosy. Dr. Majeesh Antony, Medical Officer, Primary Health Center, Kodumbu, has given a talk based on the theme “Unite, Act, Eliminate”. He emphasized on the importance of the campaign which aim to raise awareness of leprosy, highlight the challenges faced by persons affected and to inspire collaborative action for eliminating leprosy. Second year Pharm. D students of our college took part in the campaign by distributing leaflets and explaining then the mode of spread, symptoms and preventive care for leprosy. Mrs. Sumitha, Nursing superintendent has felicitated the gathering and appreciated our students for their effort and enthusiastic participation. Republic Day marks the adoption of India's constitution and the country's transition to a Republic on January 26. Every year, the celebrations marking the day feature spectacular military and cultural pageantry. On the auspicious morning of 26th January 2025, Prime College of Pharmacy celebrated 76th Republic Day at the college premises. It was the matter of great pride for all of us. Dr.A.Sumathy, Vice Principal , addressed the gathering. It was followed by National Flag hoisting by Vidhya K of Fifth Semester B Pharm. Diya Hanana of Second year Pharm D and Aiswarya of Second year Diploma delivered the Republic day speech. Fathimath Shibla of Fifth Semester B Pharm took the Pledge followed by the Flag salute. Students of Third and First Semester B Pharm sung the patriotic song. The function ended with National Anthem & distribution of sweets

Ltd.offered valuable insights into personal and professional growth, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and adaptability in today’s dynamic job market. He emphasized the importance of choosing various course options for higher education based on Critical Skill Shortages. Ms. Prathibha Biju, Regional Head-Admissions of EazyLink Academy, discussed about the benefits of diversifications. Mr. Mohamed HarishA., Placement Officer felicitated the gathering.All the students were highly motivated and enlightened about various opportunities after completing their Course.
